I have been co-driving for a few years now (since the age of 12). I just got my civil licence the day I was old enough (my 17th) just recently.

3 days after I did my 1st Rally as a driver.

My co-driver and I go talking and began to wonder what the shortest time anyone knows of between someone getting their licence and going rallying??

Tristan.

That's very fast, indeed. Thanks for letting us know!

This no fact but i believe Markku Alen got his licence on Thursday and started his firs rally on Firday or Saturday.

Jari-Matti drove rally in UK before he got his licence in Finland...

Andreas Mikkelsen competed on and won the 2005 Quinton Stages two days after he passed his driving test in the UK.

I was lucky enough to sit next to Tristan for his first event as a driver. Not only did he bring the car home without a scratch, he drove in night stages, in sometimes slippery conditions with a dodgy roadbook. We only had one daylight stage due to the rally not starting until 3pm.

Tristan increased his speed, so much that he was setting times that would have put him in the top 10. Can't wait till our next event the Caltex Starmart Rally in Canberra at the end of September.

We are looking at a multitude of programmes at the moment. Hoping 2009 can be a big year.

I prefer to be behind the wheel where I think I'm in control (not always the case though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnWkIGfzbWk )
