I'm going..BUT...does anyone know the timetable for the stages?

I'm not sure which day to go, and I live a fair distance away so need to know when to leave etc.

It seems to me that they haven't released the satge timetable yet. Am I being stupid? Or will it be released later? Help appreciated.

Have you got tickets? If not you won't get in, you need to pre-book tickets.

All info re tickets is on the website

Sat stages don't start till mid day

So your choice, see all the field for half a day or less for a whole day.

I havent pre-booked tickets because I dont know which day to go as I dont know the timetable for the event.

Bolton Midnight - is the timetable on the website? I cant seem to see anything. How do you know the stages are after midday, and are you just assuming we'll see less cars on the Sunday due to retirements?
Sorry for all the questions!

There is a timetable in the regs.

If you dont book online you wont get in.
Due to it being an active airbase (4 squadrons of Tornado's) security will be fairly strict

Says so on the website

Yes, bound to be less on the Sunday and cannot be more.

The organisation for this event is awful.

What days are you guys going? There is no idea how many stages are on each day, where they are, and what exact time they start. When, or will they, tell us?

Only 2 weeks now, and I want to order tickets, but I have no idea how to find out stage times and number of stages. How do you know when they are?

From the Regs (online at the site I posted at the top)

13th September 2008 08:00 to 12:00 Sound Test, Scrutineering & Documentation
12:30 First Car Due at MTC 1
17:15 Last Car Due at MTC 3
14th September 2008 09:30 First Car Due at MTC 4
17:00 Approximate time of last car at last MTC
18:00 Approximate time of the Awards Presentation

So 3 stages on the Saturday, 8 stages it says elsewhere so 5 on the Sunday (90 miles in total)

Sorry but what is difficult about that? Perhaps it would be better to read the regs rather than have a go at the organisation, just a thought like.

Yeah - I have read the regs, but it's hardly clear. Yes I should have seen how many stages there were on Saturday (haven't seen anything about no. stages on Sunday) but there are no individual times are there?

What if we come back from work at 4pm-ish on Saturday - how many stages would we see? No-one knows because the individual stage times aren't shown.

I stand by my comment - the organisation is poor for spectators.

Cant you phone them up?

pettersolberg29

I rang them up on Friday evening and got no direct answer other than that the times are yet to be confirmed, which with only two weeks to go isn't that good.

Anyway - so you lot can avoid this moody git here (me)- I'm going on Saturday so look out for me...!

Is it just me that feels that Englands only WRC champion deserves a better event on a proper closed forest track or something? Its not that I dont appreciate the effort thats gone into the event but he deserves more than a rally around cones.

I said exactly the same thing in the WRC thread. The problem was that 1, it's not easy to get to, and 2 it's single venue. A multi venue event would definately be better, but if they are planning on keeping it as single venue, somewhere like Milbrook would be a much better venue
