Le Mans Series 2009

Seeing as we're coming to the end of the season with one race left :( i thought i'd start this topic for rumours and news for teams/cars/tracks for the LMS next year. Here's what we know so far:

6 races confirmed for next year, with Algarve in Portugal to be a new track to the calendar. Only 2 races before Le Mans however.

New Audi Prototype- Open or closed?

Peugeot- "not building a new car for next year"

Charouz (AMR)- 2 cars for Charouz next season? Will works aston P1 car make appearance?

Oreca/Courage- New car?

Pescarolo- Reported new engine with modified chassis and redbull sponsorship

Zytek- will the hybrid appear next year, if so, who'll run it?

Jaguar- Return to sportscar racing in next few years?

Chevy- LMP1 car to make debut soon?

Luc Alphand Adventures- Alphand protos will be french chassis, no roof, details in November. GM 7L powered?

Dome- Two cars for Team Goh next year?

Creation- Possible new car?

Acura- a couple of ALMS teams coming over? Honda P1 making appearance soon?

Horag and Van Merksteijn not running RS Spyders next year?

ASM- Looking at new car, either Zytek or Lola Coupe NOT RS Spyder

AMR- New LMP2 car being built

Embassy- Acura powered for 09?

Porsche- LMP1 car already running?

RML- Possible new chassis- Coupe?

Binnie Motorsport- Returning for 09- new car?

Let the speculating begin!

About the drivers for next season I have the strange feeling Alexander Wurz would drive a 908 in LMS09 :confused:

The fact he will go at PLM with the team(and with Christian Klien)means to me he will be part of it for Le Mans 2009, and he also expressed strong wish to run full endurance racing during the complete coming years(LMS or ALMS, or...???)


Edit:
The question would be WHO Wurz would replace among the current LMS Peugeot drivers(or would Peugeot use three drivers on each car full season) :confused:
