That should make what was shaping up to be a great race even better.

Peugeot vs Audi vs Porcshe vs Acura - sounds amazing. Can't wait!

I already talk about the news in the thread "Peugeot to ALMS, Charouz with a 908 in LMS?" ;)

Tom, who do you think will be the main rival for Peugeot in Atlanta? Audi or the Penske-Porsche cars?

And, BTW, to those more knowledgable than me, I heard that in 2009 Penske will leave ALMS to the Rolex Grand-Am series, is this true?

That would be awful if Penske moved to Grand Am, but I could see him doing it as a way to strengthen his ties with Nascar.

ALMS is really the only major independant (from Nascar) top level racing series left in the United States. Just one more reason to be an ALMS fan!

Question to US fans. Why do you care so much whether a series is connected to NASCAR or not? If the product is OK? I watched Rolex Grand-Am and although the cars are less spectactular than the LMP cars, the races are gorgeous and have their charm.
My question is not intended for trolling, I am just curious.

I'd say the Audis

Yes, looks more logical, but after Serbring, I don't know.

Peugeot and Audi lost in Sebring ONLY because reliability issue...not performance :)

Road Atlanta suits the diesels.

It's the twistier tracks which generally suit the P2 cars.

So we must wait and see their reliability... it's part of the performance ;)

I've no doubt the usual LMS drivers to quickly adapt to the track and being very fast early, but in fact the clear question mark remains: will Christian Klien and Alexander Wurz also quickly adapt to the race and car in condition(they have only this year 24H of Le Mans as experience)...
