Looking forward to this one...practised the mirrored stages a while back and got the flow much better than before. It's weird how everything seems so familiar and yet when your instincts tell you left, the road goes right!!

Shakedown times. Set up was:

Gearbox: -1
Susp: -3
Bias: Neutral
Brakes: +1

1:04.22
1:07.15 - what did I say about the road going the otherway!!
1:03.46
1:03.70
1:05.39

I'm hoping you meant susp +3 :D

Not much chance for recce-daughter's insomnia in full force :(

May have to do this one at 9/10ths or 8/10ths......

1 12 39 ...a joke
1 09 83
1 09 15
1 07 01
1 08 46

This is a tricky, tricky stage more worthy of inclusion with the Italy stages than France. Suzuki doesn't cope with the transitions very well.

Going to be cautious on this one.

2 questions Homer:

1) Steering setup?
2) Wingpad or wheel for this one?

Steering was -/+ 2 however you describe quicker!

Wheel connected to my Vaio laptop on this one...the PS2 is being repaired!

how the hell are you lot getting the times so low?I've tried different combinations to get anywhere near your times, and failed. Oh well at least my own times are getting lower..
best I did was a 1:15.78
Steering +2
bias +1 front
brakes +4
Suspension +3

This is a fiendish little stage, Rat. To be honest I hate it...

Anderton, go for it and do ya best! Enjoy the tarmac, it's quick and you have to be spot on with the driving for a good result. Something I haven't got yet!

i drive the subaru here and a little tip that works for me is to not make your suspension to hard. let the subaru slide slightly. thats how i prefer things witht he subaru anyways.

Wow what a Rally! we finished with a heap of PB's during the Rally.
Day 1:
I snuck out and changed our setup from the shakedown without the Team noticing and we went better. With the suspension softened the Toymotor slid and it was very easy to slide and hang the tail out in the 4WD! We set some great times and faster as the day wore on. A couple of times we went wide and clipped some trees with minimal damage. Happy Team with not much work to do.
Day 2:
Again we reset our PB's lower than ever! We just went for it as we are not iin a position for trophies, just personal glory. A couple of slips and major slides, drifting all the time and lowering our times at the same time! Today was a bit slower overall with a couple of wall hits that re-arranged the front end a bit. No major damage again. It must have been the cheapest Rally contested this year.
Unbelievable Rally! Even the Management smiled at us back in Parc Ferme, so I guess we did really well. Thanks Team.

Eurosport: "How was the event...you look shattered!"

Homer: "Tough one, really tough. I mean we're happy with the way the car went and we even set some PBs on a two or three stages but the pace of other people is such that I just don't know what to expect from this event."

Eurosport: "Do you think you can win the event?"

Homer: "I'd like to think so and we practised hard for this one but who knows - Marcel is so quick and there are others who like tarmac too. We did our best on the stages, had a good clean run. If we get a good result that would be fantastic as I prefer the roads in Corsica to here and think we have a chance."

Eurosport: "And the title race?"

Homer: "Again, very tough. I didn't honestly think i'd be so close at this stage so everything from here on until the end is a bonus. Marcel has the lead on countback so really we have to realistically win a few rounds to stand a chance and right now, he's quicker. We'll see, either way it's been a lot of fun!"

ah unfortunately Frozzy has been unable to commit to competing on the ADAC rally deutchland
As important business meetings concerning the future of the only Skoda Fabia team are in question after a series of set backs in the team HQ based in the scottish Borders "Unfortunatly for us we have had some problems concerning our financial backers having gotten cold feet at the prospects of us changing cars for next season so we have to desperatly seek some money from somewhere if we are to continue rallying this season" was Quoted from team principle and lead driver Frozzy to the journalist of MotorSport News

Is it ok to extend the deadline to 23:59 GMT tomorrow? I'll try to get it send in in time, but I am 99% sure I will need the few extra hours after work tomorrow...

I just sent in my time card (did the rally yesterday evening). After my rather dismal showing in the tarmac rounds of the BRC this year I have undertaken some tarmac testing about a week ago and that has resulted in a better set-up and better speed on asphalt. Unfortunately I didn't have time for a proper recce of all Rallye Deutschland stages so I don't expect my four rally points scoring streak to be extended, unless many drivers have missed this round.

I had a decent Rallye Deutschland. The opening stages went by without major incidents. On stage 5 however the handling of my car seemed to be getting worse and on stage 7 I had a big crash into a signpost. For the rest of the first day that meant nursing a 'wounded' car because the allowed service time was not enough to repair all the damage.

The times on day 2 were similar to those of day 1, but this time I stayed clear of all the signposts on the last stages and I kept the car in good condition until the end, getting more valuable experience on tarmac. I was lucky with the weather by the way, not a single drop of rain all rally :)

JTLarsen

All in all a very good rally, set some fairly good times and made a couple of mistakes as the roads got really slippery from gravel pulled onto the road in some corners and rain on two stages.

pfff..just send my times in. Had a lot of trouble with my steering wheel.....again....it kept putting the brakes on during the stages...very annoying.
The rally itself was pretty good. I had a little bit of rain and some (near) PB's on the way as well. I was very happy with the pace, although I could have gone even faster without the brake problem. I hope it will be enough to beat Homer!

I'm extending the deadline to thursday 15:59 GMt to allow zes, ramore, juha, anderton and others to complete the rally.

BTW anderton, if you still don't know how to send times, you can just send me each stage time to a pm

so far I have the timecards of:
homer
rat
kabouter
NOR
Marcel Haenen
JTLarsen
Steve

so if you have send me your times and your name ain't there, you need to re-send them!

No crash at all (a miracle) but the times were useless.

Just submitted our times. Compared it with my times from the earlier BRC and they were better, but a few mistakes (notably on SS9) may have cost us a better finish. However, we set a great time on SS7 which may make up for it.

A clear rally. Clouds on stages 7 and 8 of day 1, but fortunately no rain.

Hope it is the same for everyone else.....

I am very happy with this result, considering the brake problems I encountered. I find the gap to homer surprising, I was really pushing to the limit because I thought he would be a little bit closer. This gives good confidence for the rest of the tarmac rounds this year.

NOR

Good place for me, very close battle with Tannat and Steve, but the gap from the leaders is too big. Nice to reach point to Tannat, even if the third position in championship is so far for me. One missing rally and crappy Monte are tough handicap for final fight.

I am evil Homer
22nd August 2008, 09:57
Once again Marcel just too quick for me. Oh well, I'm far happier on the upcoming tarmac event than this one so I hope to close the gap and push harder for the win!

I didn't have time to do this rally in time, I managed to do only 6 stages, but now when I see the results, I think I have to practice a bit before the Ulster International Rally. I am aiming for a podium finish in Ulster Rally. Hopefully I will have time this weekend.

Congrats to Marcel and the Rest.

5 SECONDS!!!!! The error on SS9 certainly cost me 3,if not 4.

Well done, NOR  It's time for you to gain the upper hand in our finishes.

And I'm viewing my points tally as actual-6 for our little battle. You are catching me, and I am worried what will happens when UK comes around.
