Giovanardi and Hynes will be driving for 888 who have won the race twice in succession and Matt Neal will be driving for Supercheap Auto Racing. Basically if Giovanardi can come to terms with the track (because I very much doubt that the car will be a problem) then I think that he stands a very good chance of making the locals look very very silly.

Going to be great to see Gio in V8 Supercars!

Would also explain why Neal has been testing V8s recently...

I'm sure Matt Neal will be more aware of Boris Said than the other way about!

In some article I read Matt Neal said he had never met and didn't know much about Boris Said but was impressed with his CV. Boris has won the Daytona 24 hours twice, the 12 hours of Sebring and the Nurburgring 24 hour. Right now he is trying to get a full time program going in NASCAR. He has experience driving heavy, high horsepower, rear drive, live axle racecars on road courses in NASCAR, so he should adapt well to the V8s.

I'm wonder whether Marcus Ambrose has been willing to give Boris some insider knowledge on Bathurst...

Marcos Ambrose hasnt won Bathurst 1000, Boris and Marcos is also not the best of friends nowdays.

As for the international drivers, well lets just say that they drove as expected. Bathurst should be a totally different kettle of fish. Placing 17 and 19 looks good on paper until you notice that most of the regular top drivers have paired up and are in the top place getters. Good race though

Race 3

Team: Team Vodafone

And considering Matt had a spin early in the race and Giovanardi had a drive through penalty for outbraking himself and pushing another car off track!
Respectable placings at Phillip Island, lets hope they have a better feel for the cars at Bathurst and get some better results..

This really a learning year for all 4 of the imports, lets hope both teams are going to give them a second season so they can really show what they can do.

Definitely. Thing is imports never really seem to do all that great in Bathurst at least in the last 10 or so years. It really is a specialist track.
