Good news indeed.

I know the first time ISC sold it there was a clause in the contract prohibiting any sort of ticketed racing use. Apparently they've loosened up the contract some, but I'm still not sure they're allowed to host touring series like the ICS.

At any rate I suspect it will be years, if ever, before we see the IRL return to PPIR.

At least they didn't rape it and dig holes in the track like they did to Nazareth. s. Tells me they have more or less given up on expanding into the Colorado market as well.

Perhaps the poor housing market led ISC to believe that there wouldn't be any interest in buying the track for building a developement.

Great news. Well, the Rock reopened and soon PPIR will too. So, when we gonna see North Wilkesboro with cars racing? Any other abandoned tracks that can feasibly be reopened?

The thatsracin article suggests that NASCAR racing will be off-limits for the track, due to the terms of the sale. That still leaves ARCA, USAR, USAC, IRL, and whatever road racing they can come up with.

Here's Pikes Peak's website, btw.

ISC's buying up and closing the track, to leverage a new track backfired. They probably burned their bridges to the local motorsports community, and a new track will never get the deal they wanted, so it won't happen.
