TWO years after he announced his retirement from Formula One, Michael Schumacher has revealed he did it for Ferrari team-mate Felipe Massa.
'I stopped because I didn't want my friend Felipe Massa to be unemployed,' the Swiss newspaper Blick quotes the German driver as saying.

I think that we already knew this two years ago:

Schumacher added: "As well as timing the decision, I thought it was fair so Felipe [Massa, his Ferrari team-mate] has a chance to decide his future.
He has done a great job, he is good team-mate and he had to decide.

I quit for Ferrari or Kimi, the more proper title should be in place of this one.

Decision of retirement deserved of respect to give opportunity to the younger while he was not in the capacity of domination and before being defeated for the third.

There were sort of reluctance once Kimi were rumored to be team-mated with Schumi. Their long rivalries in different top teams have prompted speculation that they both have equal level of skill and the same opportunity winning the title. Therefore to put them at the same team wouldn't save the team as it wouldn't produce good combination.

As the time goes by human would get used to certain condition, but the first response, quiting track when Schumi was there, telling much who was Schumi quit for? ;)

Exactly, old news. I guess some news site needed to fill the columns with something "interesting". ;)

It's no doubt one reason, but after seven GP titles he also admitted that he wasn't as motivated as he was before, & besides, why continue when you have nothing to prove & can only go downhill? I think he chose the right time to retire, not least because of Massa.

Yea he quit because he knew Massa was going to kick his ass. Just ask Kimi. Massa I think is just 25 yrs old - he will be kicking ass for a long time to come just as long as it doesn't rain.
