Race 2 will be World SBK's 500th race (252nd round but in 4 rounds only 1 round took place because of weather)
Bayliss leads the championship but has not won a race for since Assen and Brno is not a Ducati track.
Corser is in good form and has a good record in Brno. Neukirchner, Checa and Haga will all be looking to decrease the lead to Bayliss.
Canepa will be racing his forst of 3 wildcard rides for the Xerox Ducati.
In Supersport Pitt is in great form and looks like the championship favourite with the Yamaha riders his main competition.
There are 2 logal riders in the Superbike championships that will be looking to do well in their home race. The Smrz brothers. Jakub in Superbike and Matej in Superstock
Bayliss is obviously hungry for a win but I reckon he's more focussed on ending his WSBK career as world champ. Pitt won his title in Supersport without winning a race all season.
On the subject of WSBK......Not worth starting a new thread over it but the builder's current works programne for the new Autodromo do Algarve circuit in Southern Portugal apparently has the last last layer of asphalt scheduled to be put down in mid-October, only a few weeks prior to the race on 2 November..........I would rather have seen several race days held at the venue before that to iron out any bugs and lay a bit of rubber down.

Biaggi and Toseland swapped winner and runner-up position last year in race 1 and race 2, but on a Suzuki. If only he can maintain his pace as last year then it would be great, considering Sterilgarda finished nowhere near at the front last year.
This could be repetition of drama between Neukirhcner and Checa, representing battle between Suzuki and Honda.

I dont really want to alarm anyone but I was posting a comment on crash.net when I found this post..
on a sadder note
ex Moto GP rider Garry McCoy was airlifted to Brno hospital after touching another rider which forced him off track and into the tyre wall.
The Australian is reported to have a number of broken ribs, which have caused damage to his internal organs. A full diagnosis is expected from the hospital this afternoon.

Fabien Foret, second in WSS standings, can't start also. I hope both riders will have a good recovery.

2 good superbike races and a great supersport race.
Biaggi and Corser seemed in control of race one until Bayliss decided it was time to take control. In race 2 it always seemed it was going to be Bayliss' race but Corser and Biaggi managed to stay close to make the race entertaining enough. looks like Fabrizio is a Brno specialist once again getting podiums like he did in the past 2 years. The new 1098 works were the old 999 couldn't and Ducati was able to dominate the race.
Congratulation to Rea for his first world championship win. unlucky for Jones and Harms retiring when even a win seemed likely.

Which 1098, the F08 or RS08?
Beside the above difference, riding style of Biaggi consumes more tires grip. He looks strong only in first few laps of race and lose out the battle when races come to the end. Brno is his favorite track, and the result was quite fair for him, good job.

any version of the 1098 used in SBK is better than the 999 in terms of power, the satellite bikes are down on bower from the factory bikes but they are not sloths either. They were very similar at the start of the season but by now the factory bikes have increased their advantage.
Biaggi is actually one of the smoothest riders and his stile conserves tyres, I think his problem is that he needs a lap or 2 to get going and by then he needs to make his way through the field

I agree that Biaggi rides the bike smoothly and should conserve tyres, but I failed to find the most acceptable reason why should any rider even like Tamada (in their season at Pons) can overtake him easier in last laps.
It looks like the bike have no additional power to energize him battling out a position. His style might conserve more the engine, riding bike smoothly in angle along the track is probably a reason for a rider like him, spendthrift of tyres grip.

Garry McCoy just doesn't have small crashes, does he? Hope the little guy makes a quick recovery.
Biaggi wasn't great, considering his incredible record around Brno.
My poor Roby, darn bike broke... :(
My poor Nori, darn bike broke too :bigcry: Fortunately it was at the start of the warm up lap so he had time to throw it back in the garage and grab another one, start from pit lane and still manage a 7th.
