As the v8 got pulled from rockingham by SOMEONE this year what sort of conversations have been going on about this years racing and grid size's,

Are the BRSCC happy with what is going on could they be happy with a oval into next years plans ? as the pick up trucks still race on the oval through the brscc promoting????

How much say does the V8 have in these things??? Do you have to run under a body like the Brscc to run races ?????

ARE the guys who race this year spending the money happy with how the series has now gone into road courses ? or would they prefer a bit of both??

JUST asking as read the btcc have announced dates /not venues?

the btcc are able to announce (provisional)dates because f1 has already done the same and btcc always tries to steer clear of f1 dates. v8s are well down the food chain and with fuel costs being what they are i can see a lot of club level series being hit hard meaning either smaller grids with same or less events, or less events to keep grid numbers high but within budgets.

There have been lots of discussions about where we go next year. However, without commitment from drivers/teams, you can't do much other than hope.

The BRSCC don't run the pickups, they are a BARC series, and Mr Howard runs a tight ship there, and he has the ear of many people.
As much as many people dislike the way he operates, he does one thing that the clubs who run the majority of motorsport in the UK do not do - he actively markets his championship. Without marketing, the series wouldn't be in the state of fitness it is now.

We have no say, no status, and in the great scheme of things, we are bottom feeders now, we live off what we get thrown.

However, that doesn't mean that people are trying to rebuild things behind the scenes.

I'm not 100% happy. I don't think anyone is. I would have rather seen a mixed oval/road course series if we couldn't stay 100% oval. While I have a road course background, I joined the series to race on the oval. If I wanted to race a V8 on a road course - I have "Harry" my 'Thundersaloon' which has more power and is completely bonkers.
I have my own issues which is what's keeping me out of the series so far - that being work! I can't be in two/three places at once.

That's one of the things that TOCA can do. They decide what dates they want to run on, probably after hearing what the WMSC has decided for the WTCC, and balancing that against F1, to ensure they get as big a gate as possible, and no TV clash.
