I was reading this thread (http://www.ten-tenths.com/forum/showthread.php?t=103153&page=14) and apparently a private team has entered two lada's to race in the WTCC.It seems that there is some problems (probhttp://www.fiawtcc.com/fiawtcc/sport_sto1590086.shtml) but it seems that they are making progress and that autoVAZ is looking at a factory team for 2009.

I think if they are serious ill support them sympathy for the underdog and all that. :D

In WTCC lada drives you :p

The Lada haven't been too far off the pace in the hands of Jaap van Lagen. I would love to see one in the BTCC.

LADA CARS CAN SCORE POINTS

The two LADA 110 cars of Jaap van Lagen and Viktor Shapovalov have been declared eligible to score championship points. The decision was issued by the FIA Touring Car Bureau on the basis of the Option Variant filed by the Russian Manufacturer to amend the Group N homologation form of the LADA 110.

In the three previous meetings at Valencia, Pau and Brno, the Russian cars had been considered transparent because the intake and outlet ports of the cylinder head did not conform to the homologation form.
Further to this decision, Russian Bears Motorsport and their drivers are now also eligible to score points for the Independents' and Teams' Trophies from Estoril onwards.

There going to actually race for points this year!.

Good luck to the team! :D good to see some diversity in the WTCC.

I thought the LADA was running to S2000 spec.

They are, but there was an issue with the ports didnt conform to the regulations - i believe they had to be the same as the road car but Russian Bears version wasn't.
