The 1939 Auto Union racing car is going to be auctioned at Christie's. It is expected to bring in excess of $15 million.

Holy wow muggles. And I thought the price for that Shelby at Barrett-Jackson was obscene.

Fantastic car. Developed in part by/with Ferdinand Porsche...a man whom Adolf Hitler said after sending his personal pilot to ferry during WWII: "I have lots of Generals, I have only one Porsche".

I would love to hear the engine on that car at full song.

Jslone, there was some old footage on Speed when they had "Legends of Motorsport" on. It makes a wail that is very close in sound to a f1 engine from the 70's like a Matra or Flat 12 Ferrari. The recording on the old film was actually pretty good, and from what I have read, those v16's would wail pretty good and up to about 7000 rpm...

I would love to be behind the wheel of that car. I can only imagine what it must feel like.

Muggle not, from what I have read, the car was an oversteering nightmare.

I suspect your Nomex undies would be filled sooner or later....
