Well this news has put a dampner on my day! It will be interesting to see whether the snow stays or goes for the evening runs. Ogier will have to be very very careful. Its just a shame the big fight we had hoped for blew up after one morning stage. This is what the Monte always used to be - a survival of the fittest.

I would love to have watched it all unfold with the helicopter its definately a shame they didnt pick this stage to show live!

Yeah this would have been HUGE for Meeke's career if he could have taken the win. For Ogier it is confirming his star status, but he was already off to drive a full WRC season anyway.

Kris out of rally on SS10, accident. Crew OK. Car got on-top of slush in 6th gear, and basically aqua-planed. Rally leader Hanninen also out on first corner.
Updated : By all accounts it was a very big accident near the start of SS10. The car rolled a few times, and Kris’ was quite shaken up. The ice note crew have now collected Kris, and I will try and get an interview with him later today.

And i sure hope he will take it! :) What could he do at WRC.... fight for few points with veeeeery expensive machinery, in a series that has lost lots of its old popularity and coverage in media. In IRC he could fight for victories with many different manufacturers, and get exposure for his sponsors on Eurosport.

Although Hanninen and Meeke went out, at least its unpredictable and exciting. We still don't know who will win. How much night driving has Ogier done. Probably not as much as Toni so he could bridge the gap. But one wrong tire choice, one wrong line, One gear too high is all it takes...

I don't think there is any doubt about that  Did better than anybody expected I think. And if it is a driver error with Hanninen then it is not something to worry about too much as I expect that he might just have been trying a bit too hard today to get back lost time after yesterday's puncture.

Have you noticed that 5 out of top ten cars are Fiat´s already :-)
and something to compare from last year.
Top 10 last year:
1. Loeb 3:39:17.0
2. Hirvonen +2:34.4
3. Atkinson +2:58.6
4. Duval +2:59.7
5. Solberg +4:40.9
6. Galli + 8:46.5
7. Cuoq + 10:24.8
8. Andersson + 11:19.5
9. Solberg + 12:43.6
10. Wilson +14:00.1

This year:
1. Ogier 3:03:10.2
2. Gardemeister +1:50.5
3. Loix +2:49.6
4. Sarrazin +3:59.6
5. Kopecky +4:34.5
6. Basso + 6:14.7
7. Alen +10:11.5
8. Maurin +13:13.1
9. Wittmann +13:28.7
10. Burri +13:33.8

So, the conclusions:
French guy is still in front with approximately 2 minutes, second place belongs to finn. one belgian is involwed inthird place fight and most of the gaps are already much bigger than last year at the end of rally.
So, no difference.. is it wrc or s2000, same drivers, same caps ;-)

Although last year the gaps were mostly because of skill, while this year the gaps are mostly because of flat tyres and the different conditions. And also remember who would have been in the top 10 if they didn't had to retire. In 2008 only Sordo, while in 2009 Haninnen, Meeke, Rosetti and Voullioz.
