I hate to be the bearer of bad news - but as of the end of this year, Eurosport will lose coverage of MotoGP, it'll be BBC only in the UK:
http://www.motogp.com/en/news/2008/MotoGP+coverage+on+Eurosport+ends+for+2009
(note the phrase '...would like to announce that coverage will no longer be available...' - forged in the fires of management hell, that one)
This is a massive blow to dedicated fans in the UK, who've been used to the best coverage around (arguably, worldwide) on Eurosport with all races and quali live for all classes, and Friday main class action shown in the evening or occasionally live. The expert commentary team of Julian Ryder, Toby Moody and Randy Mamola also have a big part to play in what Eurosport have done over the past decade with their superb coverage.
Obviously, the money's changed hands and it's a done deal now, but it's a free country and we're all welcome to our views. My views have gone to these people:
Dorna UK :- Tony Partis - dornauk@dorna.com
Licensing :- Phaedra Haramis - commercial@dorna.com
TV Production :- Sergi Sendra - tvproduction@dorna.com
And I encourage anyone else to do the same. I'm not a happy bunny.

total agree with the pair of you, I watch the BBC coverage, because of freeview, but when I had eurosport it was the nuts in coverage, when I was in cyprus watching GP on eurosport the Jerz race in 05 it was still the nuts, if the beeb going to have full control it will be blocked compere to F1 is on, so if its gonna work the same weekend, F1/motogp should be in Asia/America one round in Europe, not when last weekend were the F1 was at Maney and the GP was in Donnington in IMO. if that clear,

Wow, What a shocker!! But I agree with you. When do you ever see adverts for the Moto GP coverage? It's still a secret, or it seems it is. Imagine what the F1 coverage is going to be like, all over the place - TV, Radio, Internet, i;e the full works. Seeing as Eurosport will no longer cover Moto GP, then the BBC are going to have to up the ante, Big Time!! Maybe they could sign Toby, Julian and Randy. Wishful thinking!!

BOOOOOOO ! I just started to watch the Eurosport coverage and fell in love right away.
Hopefully, Moody, Julian and Randy will get jobs at BBC or even with Dorna.

That's similar to what happened here in China. I used to watch it free to air on Star Sports until they stopped it and made it a pay to view channel. Lucky I now have TVU. I watch live on the internet now, but, still not as good as on my big screen telly, but, I can at least understand the commentry now :)

I guess that Dorna will make a big mistake imo, also which channel will the F1 be on if the motogp is on at the same time, also i'm sorry about mis-spelled jerez on my pervious message

At least there wont be ad breaks, that really bugs me on Europsport and you turn to BBC for uninterupted coverage anyway.

I quite like the BBC coverage and don't have Eurosport so this doesn't really matter to me. Obviously with F1 it's going to be a pain as clashing GPs will mean bikes get shoved to 'red button' treatment. HOwever I'd suspect that MotoGP will get more adverts as they'll be thrown in with F1, a bit like ITV do when they say that the BTCC will be on.

I can't stand the BBC coverage. Charlie Cox just drones on - he might be knowledgeable about Touring Car racing but not MotoGP.
Hopefully the BBC will stop dumbing down the coverage and hire the Eurosport lads.
There is a petition already

UNBELIEVABLE!!! The best coverage there has been is now gone - they are talking about big countries, but what about small ones?
Dorna had the best TV partner and they changed it - this is not a good move. TV is so important nowadays ...

What a shame - I only became interested in motorcycle racing through the enthusiasm of the British Eurosport commentators, it was always great fun to watch.
Unfortunately, this continues the pattern of Eurosport losing yet another motorsport coverage - about ten to fifteen years ago, they had Champ Car, NASCAR, FIA GT, ETCC, F1, WRC and F3000 - most of them live -in addition to MotoGP and Superbikes.
Now it looks like they soon might only have WTCC and Formula Masters plus WRC highlights left.
Incidentally, I just read in F1 Racing's July issue that Toby might be in line for the F1 commentating job for the BBC. That just might have become more realistic, as by hiring him, the Beeb could employ him for both F1 and MotoGP.

I hope the BBC get Mamola in some shape or form. Charlie Cox is a great bloke (I know a guy who met him and said the same), but he's really not a bike guy. Maybe they should stick him on the F1 coverage.
In some ways the BBC MotoGP coverage is already better than the Eurosport coverage, in that they have a proper gridwalk and often a half hour post-race show where they analyse the race and interview a few people.
I'm not bothered if MotoGP goes to red button when F1 is on. Just press the red button and forget all about boremula one.

I just cannot believe that the people who run MotoGP want to stop the best coverage of the sport there is on a dedicated channel and give it to the BBC.
There will be less coverage and therefore a smaller audience, and will it all be live? And if not will you hear the result before you see the race?? Will it be on at a regular time or when they can fit in the highlights??
Makes one want to kick bottoms.......
