I will there, great event, and a great entry. Hope the sun joins in!!!! I am also going to try and do ss1, ss5 and ss7, but think I will have to miss some of the action on ss5 to watch the full field through ss7.

sounds just about right on stages guys but looking at timing i reckon you could get a watch on ss3 too , do you guys know which way the stages are running .
is it halfway to finish towards dixies or other way round
same with route 60 is it finishing at dixies or by dual road up from llwyel
and lastly is monument finish down towards ranges
would be great if someone could come back to me .
thanks si

Yeah spot on i recon you could see SS3 too so hopefully be able to see top cars 4 times :D :D
If you look at the website theres a map of the spectator stages.
But Halfway is starting towards Dixies so they do the twisty section first like last year ;)
Route 60 is also starting towards Dixies as usual ;)
The start of the Monument stage is closer to the ranges i think although be difficult to go to as your supposed to go to that stage from Builth Wells way etc hope that helps anyway ;)

I think il still stick to Halfway/Route 60

As for McRae gathering its a collection of as many Scoobies as possible to pay tribute to Colins achievements with Subaru. The convoy of Imprezas will travel from Lanark to Prodrive in Banbury over the course of the weekend 30-31st August. Only Subarus can take part so depends on whether you have an Impreza or know someone who does etc

But should be a great weekend on the Sunday everbody gets to look round Prodrive HQ and the plan is to spell out Colin McRAE using the Imprezas which are present each car has to carry the McRae Gathering sticker!
As its the same weekend as the Woodpecker Rally im going along on the Sunday only

Watch a load of wannabes in there RS Cossies, or watch how the real guys do it in there £300,000 WRCs and proper Mk2s (best RWD entry this year  ) and not forgetting the 306 Cossie :D

The answer is obvious ;)

SS4 is Caeo i think which is the oppostite side of Crychan ;)

I was planning on doing ss1, ss3 and ss7, how much of the field in halfway, do you think realisticly I can fit in before i have to move to get to route 60? i was thinking a good 80 cars? first stage 09:00, ss3 10:54. I have to stay on route 60 for all the cars to go through as I am photographing a couple of the rally first crews. So doubt i will be able to get back to halfway for ss5 aswell!!!

Usually best to be on the safe side and leave plenty of time. I've cut it tight on a few events this year and there's nothing worse than getting to a stage and realising you've missed the top 10

Hope he can get it fixed :s panner: though and hopefully engine doesnt start to play up again.
Yeah still good entry but not too bothered about standing out in the rain all day when Burton's competing. Looks like bad weather for Saturday :p although least there wont be dust :D

Burton deffinetly won't be there, so the car will now be prepared for the Swansea Bay which is more important for the Ancro Championship. Although I still think he's doing Goodwood.

Hope it's not too wet as rain really f*cks it up for videoing in! And also the location I have planned for my first run of Halfway is on an exposed hillside :s

Least not long to go to the Swansea Bay :)

Yep looks like its a wash out rain all day  yeah not greatest for filming. R u parking down at the Halfway car park?? Cos if you go onto Epynt follow the car park for Route 60 theres a place where you can park opposite Halfway forest and theres a track which leads down to a good open area not far from the start of the stage. This will be useful if you want to see the top lot four times as it makes it easier t get to Route 60 and back to halfway again ;)

I shall be going into halfway for an hour for the first stage, then off to the hairpin by the spectator area in route 60 for the first run, then have a walk around route 60 to find my next location. I will be signed on as media, so if you see me at the hairpin, come and say hello.

Great pics exellent photo of the Focus over that jump and class shot of Damian Cole sideway's. ;)
Thought the rally was class no hold ups etc managed to see most of the field four times with a bit of walking. On the second run through halfway the left rear wheel came off Middleton's Suzuki about mile into the stage but we just couldnt find it probably still rolling. I think it wasn't tightened properly in service and jst came off.
Despite the rain i managed to get some good filming so il try and post that :D

Roll on the Swansea Bay Rally
