12 Laps down. It looks like its a real big step up, from Pickups to Craftsman Truck for any of our British guys ?

Apparently there was an 8 car wreck around halfway. There were 6 retirees, then Paul so its not beyond the realms of possibility that he was involved in that to some extent, giving him damage that had him off the pace enough to lose a lap, say, every 10 laps or so!

maybe!

Could be the case, but NASCAR would have pulled him in if he was that far off the pace. There is a certain speed which has to be maintained.

Is he doing anymore races in Craftsman Truck this year ?

You don't have to be very far off the pace on the monster mile to go down laps.

They may have spent some time in the garage repairing it, before getting him back out.

It's a shame they don't show CTS and Nationwide on Sky Snorts like they do Cup (even if we have to see John in his shirts that look more like curtains!)

Monster Mile - Dover. Thought he was racing at Milwaukee.

John's shirts - apparently vertical stripes make you look slimmer !!!

Exactly Rob, without a full news report of everything that happened its hard to really tell what went on. Sure there must be someone who knows Paul on here and can let us know what went on!

Also agree on the coverage front, id rather watch trucks than busch (cough!)

Just watched the race.
Seems like Mr Poulter had quite an eventfull weekend.Had some trouble in practice requiring an engine change.
Ran out of petrol on about lap 78,needed a push off safety truck to get into pit road, this cost 4 or 5 laps.Got accidentally turned into wall on lap 157 which looked like it caused quite a bit of damage to rear of truck, the crash cost 2 more laps and he just seemed to lose more ground from there to the end.
From start of race it took about 35 laps to lose a lap and after the fuel incident i would guess under green flag it took about 45 laps to lose another lap.On such a short track they were very decent runs i think.
Hope he gets to run more events,i think its great that two of rockinghams top drivers have ran in craftsman trucks this year.
Its a shame it wasnt mentuioned here befroe hand he was running this weekend, would have paid more attention to qualifying if i had known.

Oh he had a good mention before the race as well, something about a driver from over the pond with experience of running trucks but with much less power.

I've heard the Indycar boys call Milwaukee the "Monster Mile" - and they don't go to Dover...

I didn't think they liked people to wear shirts like that because sometimes they upset the recording tackle......

Jeff - thanks for the report - that answers our questions pretty well. Which channel did you watch it on?

I was going to say, I couldn't find any listings on any of the 1million Sky channels.

Why don't they add Speed to the package!!!?????

Nice little featurette on Paul while they were doing the warm up lap. They made mention of his 'previous experience racing trucks but mich much less horsepower', and that he is from 'Brook-ham' ;)

stripes can cause the camera to start "strobing" as it's called, but usually only if they are very thing and close together. often people can get away with stripes, but sometimes people have to change clothes because of the technical problems, and it's usually people like me that have to go out and buy them!

After the engine change Paul was down on horse power too which was a huge disadvantage.

Isn't that specifically a PAL problem? Should happen at all these days!
