Roman Odložilík will not start because of too short time between rallys. Spare parts arived too late.

That is a shame, he wasn't placed too bad in the championship, was he

Mirek
17th June 2008, 20:42
It is shame but the reason is that we have too many rallys in very short time. And two weeks after Horacká, there is another event - Bohemia.

Is there allready news if Fabia S2000 will be in Bohemia as a zero car?

Mirek
17th June 2008, 20:46
No, there isn't and I don't count with it. If yes, it would be good anyway.

Really tough first leg from this evening with 6 stages to run by night or almost !!! :mark:

After two stages, Roman Kresta already in the lead in battle with Vaclav Pech... ;)

Excellent surprise on this start of rally with Jozef Petŕk 3rd overall

What happens on SS4 ??? They are long to give Staff Vojtech's time(crew number6)

I don't know, Tom. For other members, it is probably a good idea to give a link to the live results: http://mmcr.vysledky-rally.cz/rallysport/2008/mcr/horacka/4fia.php

Edit: the times are there now.

Very nice fight between Pech and Kresta. Pech is after SS5 back in the lead with 0,6 sec. advance. The young talented driver Orsák is again fast. The Subaru's and Trněný are a bit slow until now.

Also nice battle for last podium position between Petŕk and Trojan, separated by 4s before the last stage of the day :)

I don't mind if Petŕk loses this position this night, all I hope is that he finishes on the podium at the end of the rally(after SS9) :p :

Wim_Impreza: Stages in Třebíč are too fast and Lancers have more top speed than Imprezas. But in fact I'm surprised by S2000 pilots as Peták is quite old gentleman who doesn't like night stages and Tarabus was very long out with a serious injury of his hand. The more the stages are such fast...

About Pech, he made a mistake on SS2 (reverse in a chicane). In fact the biggest change in this season is that Pech started using BFG and that the last two rallys are completely dry. Anyway it is thrilling battle :)

Nice pace from Vaclav Pech who increases his lead and from Jozef Petŕk who is able to defend his 3rd position(after SS10) :bounce:

Five stages left to go ;)

As a Kresta supporter I hope he can win, but on almost every stage now he is a bit slower than Pech. Pech had a 10 seconds penalty (1 minute too late at SS9), so the difference between them is only 1,1 sec. after SS10.

Without penalty ???

Mirek

Kresta said they went on safety programme due to overheating from SS2.

Pech's penalty was due to co-driver's mistake.

Wim_Impreza
21st June 2008, 12:00
Pech and Kresta are equal in time after SS11. If the engine from Kresta is fixed, we will have again a nice fight for victory.

21st June 2008, 12:26
After stage 13 and with only two stages to go Pech has taken the lead by 2"4 for Kresta. Trojan is now third at 1'34"4 and Pétak fourth at 1'39"0. I don't see any penalisation for Kresta, so i guess he left service in time? There is 10" penalisation for Pech. :p

What happened to Petŕk in SS13 he lost too much ??? :(

Mirek
21st June 2008, 12:30
Yes, he left service in time but the problem is not repaired as it seems. Kresta won only short city stage where there overheating is not a problem because the stage is 2,8 km long... Peták made some mistake or have some problem.

Tom206wrc
21st June 2008, 13:02
Mistake apparently for Petŕk on previous stage as he did good time in SS14 and has less than 1s to catch on Karel Trojan for 3rd position ;)

Sad thing is that the crash happened on insane stage where there was 9 schicanes on 14 kms but nevertheless the average speed was more than 120 km/h! Maximum allowed average speed in Czech championship is 120 km/h but it is largely ignored. In rally Sumava many stages were faster but non of them was canceled including that one where Landa had a terrible crash during first run (average 125 km/h).

This is mostly a failure of our national federation as such stages should not be allowed at all.

Looks like it is a really very fast stage, not very technical. It is only because off some chicanes that they made it a little slower, if not it is way too fast in my point off vieuw. It doesn't look anything like Barum rally, wich is the only rally i can compare with in your country. What do you think yourself Mirek?

Mirek
23rd June 2008, 20:39
In my opinion such stage shouldn't been run. It is way too fast and dangerous. Chicanes are not used for making it safer but only to lower down average speed in non dangerous places (in villages etc.). Even with 9 chicanes the average speed was over 120 km/h. Without them I think that it would be about 140. There are long parts run on top speed among the trees. That is useless risk with no sport value.

I completely agree with you Mirek. I think in Barum rally the stages are much nicer and more technical.
