View Full Version : Is It True "You Can't Go Back"

People use the phrase in regard to moving back to where you grew up or rekindling an old romantic relationship, or returning to a place of work. I made a very rare visit to the mid size city where I grew up and got to wondering what it would be like to move back but I'm also wondering if that saying has any validity.

I don't see a problem moving back to where you grew up or once lived.
Many people feel a sense of longing being away from friend's and family.

Although, you never want to move back in with your parent's or spark up an old romance that ended in bad terms. Dipping back into a poisonous well is a disaster waiting to happen!

Sometimes you have to go away to appreciate what you have at home.

No, my mum lived in Paris and the south coast of France and now lives more or less where she was born and I would love to live where I'm from, but I get the feeling house prices would be out of my reach... Although I do live in a nice area, it might be different if I lived elsewhere :p :

Yes, most of the time you can go back but it is never the same as before. :s
