Honda's 2005 and 2006 top riders seem to struggle, because their current teams are building their bikes on their top riders..
I can't believe that Nicky and Marco have really got that worse since the 800 introduce.. They were fighting Valentino in 2005 and 2006 on some GPs.

What will bring them luck? I'm sure that if you have a team of Nicky and Marco, and you put them on a bike that they can both ride, they can shine again.. But where is that?

I reckon if they swapped seats, both would be much happier.

Reckon Marco would be happier, but I reckon Nicki is on the way down wherever he goes.

Well, Marco couldn't be more unhappy. He would be an instant title contender again at Repsol but it won't happen, Dovi is the annointed successor.
I think Hayden would be quite competitive on a Duc, though I think he would be hard pressed to get ahead of the young brigade coming through. The Desmosedici requires quite a lot of muscling around to get the best out of it and Hayden's best results were on the 990 and superbikes which require similar. A Hayden move to Ducati is also more likely to happen.

There's an article about Colin Edwards on Eurosport dated 11/6. If any one else has read it would they give their interpretation on his comment "I think Nicky (Hayden) is pretty much done isn't he?" as it comes immediately after the reporter has written that Edwards denied having been in negotiations with Ducati with regards to a factory ride in Motogp.

Nicki is still the biggest name in the roadbike scene in the US. His worth to Ducati in North America and beyond in potential sales could be a major win in itself.

I think Colon's sugestion is that it is a 'done deal'.

Ducati can't seriously be considering Cleatus the Slack Jawed Yokel at a factory rider?

Ducati can't seriously be considering Cleatus the Slack Jawed Yokel at a factory rider? What's next, Tony Stewart driving for Ferrari in F1?

Although I can't be as harsh a critic as edlalu, I must say that I find it hard to imagine Nicky being of much use on the Duke. I hope he proves me wrong, and wish him luck if he gets the ride. If I were Ducati, I would be looking at Kallio, or riders from the 250's that are shining at the moment.
