There are some cars in films and cinema which are just so friggin awesome-sauce that if they were ever made, you'd want one. Speed Racer's Mach 5 was one of those for me, and now that I've seen the film (which wasn't as rubbish as I'd expected) I still want that car.

Are there any cars which you just simply "have to have"?

I don't know if this counts but I've always wanted Ferris Bueller's 1962 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder. Now that's a car!

Mad Max's 'last of the V8 Interceptors' sucking nitro :D :D

Reckon Clouseau's Silver Hornet would be good for a larf too :D

Bah, so many replicas of the Interceptor here, it's unfashionable. :p :

Silver Hornet, deffo. Ricky Bobby's Chevelle, more so.

Admittedly I havent seem the film of Speed racer, I've seen some trailers on telly and it looked more like a computer game being shown in cinemas.

It was Cameron's dad's, but near enough :)
Wasn't it Chris Evans (a UK DJ) who just bought a Spyder and made it the most expensive used car ever sold?

Veeten's already got dibs on the Batmobile, so I'll go for Bond's last Aston please.
With bombs

I thought I read somewhere that the movie and the car from "Speedracer" were animated and not real. However its just as nice as the original from the 70's.
My personal real life cars are the pimp mobiles from "Shaft" or the one from "Starsky & Hutch", the movie with SnoopDogg. But for American buying and driving I'll take the Mustang Steve Mcqueen drove in Bullit.

Now that's pretty darn cool.

Some of my faves would be Magnum P.I.'s Ferrari 308 GTS, Sonny Crockett's (fake) Ferrari 365 Daytona and Sting's Jag XJS from Stormy Monday.

Ah, a Ford Torino. Airbus' inspiration for the A380. ;)

Yes but "Cameron's Dad's 1962 250GT California Spyder" doesn't have the same ring to it, now does it? ;)

I second the Last of the V8 Interceptors, too. Pity they blew it up. :(

This might be a smallish leap in logic but does the Millenium Falcon count? It was a car of the future. Sort of. If try not to think about it too much.

I'd take that Mini from the newer version of The Italian Job. You know the one out of the three, with Charlize in it

I don't think he knows Angelina. But perhaps Charlize can get in touch with her for you? She says to wear your sexy sext boots and nothing else

Same here. But KITT much much more than the A-Team's GMC Vandura. I am still seething over a SKY Three show of the most popular TV cars. At 2# was KITT but beating it was the 1969 Dodge Charger of The Dukes of Hazzard. The Charger is organge, has doors that are welded shut, only has one party piece and was known for racing through dirt tracks. KITT has an indestructible shell, can talk, can drive itself, has all manner of hi-tech weapons and scanners, has a turb-boost and numerous other things probably.

But I am concerned, though a cartoon way back in the 80's, nobody mentions the cars and vehicles from M.A.S.K. I loved the fact bog-standard cars could turn into other vehicles and fighting machines with weapons on them. For instance their was a Jeep 4x4 called "Gator" which had a chasis that could flip up to reveal a speedboat and on the back was a barrell that was a depth-charger. Cool.

Talking of vehicles changing, how cool would it be to own Optimus Prime? Although perhaps not suitable for country lanes in Devon so I'll just go with the camply named 'Bumble Bee', especially if Megan Fox is in the passenger seat :cheese:

Oh, just thought of some more obscure ones.

Anything Clark Griswold has owned (as long as it was fixed afterwards...) ;)

The Delorean from Back to the Future was the first movie car I fell in love with.

Can't believe no one mentioned the Dodge Challenger from Vanishing Point!
