Yep thats it, due to lack of numbers the plug has been pulled on us, we have to have more cars for Brands Hatch, more news on that after this weekend.

Bummer, that's such a shame - was so looking forward to going to Lydden.

Fingers, toes and paws all crossed here chez Witty for Brands, will also make sure good vibes are sent. Duane, if there's anything I can do, drop me a message.

Ages ago I'm sure I saw a thread about Colin converting a car to Britcar spec? Did anything come of that? Could it not be considered again to get at least a couple of cars running in something regularly?

what happened to all of the vsr cars from alst year, seems to me like they all beggerd off because they didnt want to be beaten by an ascar?!

hope everything is sorted, i dont care about a championship i jus want to see the cars out there, whether thats in britcar, gt racing, anything!

Ascar racing in the uk is similar to supporting Leicester City at the minute it lurches from one disaster to another ! I'm beginning to think I'm jinxed :(

It's hard to be positive about either of those two at the minute but lets have a go .
On a positive about Leicester I will get to go to some new (rubbish) grounds next season.

On a positive about Ascar racing...You are saving me money by not racing.

Not much of a positive I know for either but I did try !

How can you expect there not to be negative comments when a series is cancelling races due to a lack of interest?

Lack of interest and lack of numbers is not the same thing.

It's just so unfortunate that this has happened at this particular moment in time. but as we're wont to do, we'll pick ourselves up, dust ourselves down and head off to Brands in better spirits.

I'm sending out positive vibes.

Tough break guys, hopefully the numbers will be out for brands.

Although things look bad right now, there is lots of positive news on the horizon.

Its probably been cancelled for a number of things, alot of car owners probably want to keep there cars in one piece for brands hatch, as lydden wasnt a brscc meeting, and if anything happened to there car they would only have 2 weeks to sort it, i know the guys at revolution have been flat out, also probably another reason is that some people are slow at pulling there fingers out of there a#@e getting there cars sorted. :(

Sorry. As i said to duane last night, im glad its off, it would have been the first meeting i had mist in 5 seasons, as 3 hour drive when the wifes about to bring another racing fan in to the world doesnt really work.

I'm afraid I don't see the difference in this case. A while back I posed the question as to how long it would take to convert a car from Oval to Roadcourse spec, and was told it was about a weeks worth of work. Well here we are nearly half way through the year, and we have the grand total of...two cars running regularly. That suggests a big lack of interest. Yes I know that money is harder to come by these days, but we're talking about a 75% drop in car numbers from last year here. I know there are drivers out there who can't or won't run roadcourses, but if they want the series to survive in any way, shape, or form , they need to swallow thier pride, dust off the cars, and get out there. Otherwise there's going to be a lot of chassis up on e-bay this time next year.

Pitmarshal, you are right on most scores, you can take a horse to water but you cant make it drink, some car owners have said they will dust off thier cars but now are uncontactable, its so frustrating as our cars are so good away from the oval.

as for the week to change a car, thats a solid week, we all work full time so a weeks work soon gets spread, Rob has the most work on as he is also changing his whole car over to another chassis.

its a bit like those who want too cant, those who could are not.....YET !!!

to be honest i dont know whats making them take their time over deciding!.....i saw transam in their latter years and the asa cars that ran with them held their own!....id love to race an ascar on a road course....the thoguht of going down craner curves in one send shivers down my spine!

Then give Duane a ring/pm whatever. There are cars out there available for drives. I've got one ready to go subject to the usual requirements and I'm sure Colin has another one set up for turning right. It won't be the Craner curves but I should think Paddock at Brands could be lively

I think the banter is justified - "lets go circuit" - what have we got? two cars, and now a round cancelled.

I know the economic climate isn't helping, but where is everyone??

At this rate all the pessimists will be proved right and it will be "Bye-Bye ASCAR/SCSA/..." :(
