You'd think after years of apartheid and racism that the people of the townships would be a bit more accomodating of others but apparently not. Truly shameful.

You mean xenophobia, right?

Yeah, I think he means xenophobia. The state sponsored death squads during the P.W. Botha years represented racism. The (some still in existence) right wing Afrikaner groups with Nazi-like symbols represented racism. From what I've read, all of these people are of the same race, though maybe different ethnic groups. And even during the anti-apartheid movement, not all of them were (truly) on the same side. They often fought among themselves.

Now Daniel, this is just the sort of thing that got us in trouble with Jose the Pure last time.

Let's not hide behind fingers, xenophobia exists even in european democracies. Dogs and romanians aren't allowed in a spanish shop:

All they know is kill, rape and steal. Colour makes no difference. More black people are killed in this country everyday than whites.

Any form of racism or discrimination is unacceptable IMO

The one country in the world which has experienced more bigotry than any other, and now they are turning that hatred onto others. Sad doesn't describe it. It must be said though, that 2/3 of those migrants are Zimbabweans. Another reason Robert Mugabe should have met a smart bomb a long time ago.

Ha! Before wondering about what happens in South Africa we should look a bit under our noses. I mean right here in Europe.
It's probably for the first time în the history of European Parliament when the government of a member state ( Berlusconi's ) received such tough criticism because they can't handle a situation that seem to take place in Africa or Asia.

Actually, we have more migrants from Nigeria, Uganda and Mocambique than from Zimbabwe who probably make up 20% of the migrant population. It is changing quickly though.

Watched the news on it yesterday.I was truly disgusted by a 'person' from a mob who had a large knife when he said he would stab people in the face with it; and then laughed at a xenophobe being PWNED by the cops

You're right. But I still can't stand gipsies.

and I can't stand most indians(native americans not the people from India) here, but I never discriminated them on something or wanted to have them killed, I just don't like them, but I have no problem with them living in my country or city. if that makes me a racist well too bad for me but I wouldn't like to be classified in the same group as the morons who enjoy and laugh when someone from another race/country gets beaten or killed...
