Can he beat Loeb and Marcus and became world champ ? I must say that I was impressed by his performace in Montecarlo  Was it because it was a tarmac event ?

What you guys think ? :)

For me, if the conditions were of the ones of the "normal" monte with snow and ice, probably he won´t be there.

He has shown once again that is really fast on tarmac, but I think he can´t beat the two masters yet.

Yep he still needs more speed on gravel, as the second half of last year showed. That comes with experience though, but don't think it will take him that long.

But as long as Seb is still there, he won't be ahead ;)

I guess we have to wait for Sweden to know more about this then ;) For sure having Citroen such drivers, it will be difficult for Ford to win the title again...me thinks ;)

I don't think it'll be that hard for Ford. They have 2 mature drivers ready to deliver in EVERY event.

While Sordo is a great asset and one to watch for the future I don't think he can challenge yet. Maybe on tarmac but he'll be held back.

I really like the bloke and he has my full support but he's not ready yet!!

On every tarmac rally(including Ireland!!!) Sordo can beat everyone driving something else than a C4, I believe !! :p :

Dani is quite possibly one of the future stars of WRC. He reminds a bit of Loeb, who above all was first a tarmac specialist, but in a few years learned to drive magnificently on gravel as well. I think Sordo can follow the same pattern. It's still only his second season in WRC and his progress so far has been pretty impressive. The goal of this season is to find consistency to drive the whole season well (last year he faded a bit in the second half of the season). This season Dani might score a win (probably on tarmac), but next year Sebastien better watch out for him very carefully.

A little reminder....Loeb was French G R A V E L champion......by no means he was considered a tarmac specialist.

i think Sordo will definitely beat Loeb on one of the Tarmac rally this year (without team orders of course...) he has to improve a lot on gravel me think...

It will be interesting to follow Sordo's performance here in Portugal. Don't forget that he was there last year when has driven the Citroën Xsara as zero car and if I'm not wrong in 2005 it came with The Citroën C2 S1600, so in theory he is in front of his opponents

I agree with who wrote that on dry tarmac Sordo is very fast but he has to grow a lot on gravel, as the end of last season confirms.

I also add that also his capabilty to front the attack of other drivers has to grow. He's very fast when he's attacking and who is after him is far but when he's object of an attack of another driver he suffers a crisis...for instance, Finland 2006...

I think he's young, so he has time enough to grow in the perfect way to became one of the best and most complete future WRC drivers.

I think he has shown he is fast and he has adapted very well to the new car, but he needs time to beat Loeb or Gronholm on other surfaces. Experience counts a lot when driving on snow and gravel he doesn't have it yet.

I think he will be as good as Hirvonen and Atkinson when their time to be on front comes.

A little reminder....Loeb was French G R A V E L champion......by no means he was considered a tarmac specialist.

Actually, he entered the French gravel rally championship in order to gain more experience on this type of surface. Loeb always felt more comfortable on tarmac and still does (the only driver who could really challenge Seb on dry tarmac was Markko Martin).

I believe that Sordo can beat Loeb, but I am afraid that management will not allow a French driver in a French car on French tyres be beaten. A bit like bein Schumacher's team mate.

I agree, impressive drive of Sordo. On asphalt he's far, but I don't see him beating Loeb, Grönholm or even Solberg that fast on gravel or snow. But who knows how things will turn out. We don´t even now how competitive the C4 will be on other surfaces. If he wins a rally soon, he could be the youngest ever to do so.

You gotta be kidding. Duval wasn't equal to Martin on tarmac nor on gravel at all...

Sordo has no chances to be in Top 6 in Sweden & Norway. On gravel he could get Top 4-5 positions only in such rallies where are very low level of WRC cars, like in Mexico, Argentina and Japan. On tarmac he can win a rally this year but only if Loeb has some problems.

He is the next Loeb IMO. He ain't that good on gravel but he will be as time progresses. If both Loeb and Sordo see out the whole season then Citroen will be Constructors Champions.

I think Sordo is showing how good he his on tarmac, but also... and more importantly, how good Citroen really are.

Remember we dont really know how good Loeb is (we do really, but for the purposes of the argument we dont!) until he gets into another make of car.

It would not be unreasonable to assume that the C4 is 0.25s per kilometer quicker than the 06 Ford. Over a 45k stages thats +11s, which is comparable to the times set by the 2 Citroens.

Also, Sordo's blinder of a stage time, Marcus was 10s up, then spun twice with hydraulic problems.

Dont get me wrong, Sordo is the real deal, on tarmac, but I think Atkinson performance was every bit as impressive.
