Really enjoyed my trip to the North East. Had a visit to the VIP/Press day on Friday then SS1 and SS4 on Saturday before heading home.

Many cogratulations to Philip Morrow/Daniel Barritt on the win and David Bogie/Kevin Rae for maximum Scottish Championship points.

Here are a few pics of the action...

Cheers Jay, I like that one too!

No, it looked a bit second hand. Any idea what location he went off at?

Also, you can thank Craig Mc for me - NOT! Stood in same place for all cars on SS1 to the side of the runoff on an open hairpin left (where I took the Weston pic above). No problem other than a few stones rolling past my feet then BANG!!.....a golf ball sized stone on the side of the head as Craig went past! It still hurts if I touch it.....http://www.fancysplace.com/smileys/cries.gif

Did you manage any spectating Colin?

No,quite a busy day for me,he had no intercom on the first two and complaining of no bite with the brakes all day (wrong pads )then she stopped half a mile from the end of the last stage for 90secs after a hard landing and for some reason the wheel studs kept slackening all day so we had to chase as well as service, but all good fun.Hope the head gets better soon, must be somthing about us Colin's and getting hit by stones when rallying

My dad got whacked by a rock as well and has a proper black eye, whereas I prefer to whack myself with the camera! :blackeye:

Not safe this rallying lark, is it? :p :

I got a stone in the stomach at the Somerset Stages on Saturday. Was low down on the inside of a fast corner. Bloody well hurt too.

Andreas Mikkelsen who started as a zero-car was 1.35 min faster than Morrow.

Mikkelsen is a future star for sure, but i cant see how he won by that margin, especially when his co driver drove the last stage slowly, and not a fair battle anyways as Morrow was useing organisers notes, where as Mikklesen recced the stages

Mikkelsen Morrow
ss1 5.16 5.33 +17
ss2 8.02 8.10 +8
ss3 6.57 7.21 +24
ss4 7.44 8.03 +19
ss5 8.29 8.47 +18

I will correct myself, Mikkelsen was leading by 1.26 min after ss5. I am not sure about their time on ss6 but if Mikkelsen had driven ss6 they would probably have won the rally by nearly 1.35.
