Fourth round of Czech International Championship, second round of Czech championship of historical cars, rally-legend show. Very nice rally held in very nice countryside around beautiful historical town of Český Krumlov (Unesco). Two legs of 14 stages with 185 km of competitive stages. This rally is one of the more technical of ours and suitable to S1600 or S2000 cars...

There is no list for Rally-legend show in the moment but there will be Italian guys with group B cars as last year (several Lancias 037 and Stratos), Mike Reichert with his Quattro A2 replica and others. Rally legends won't do the whole course of the rally but now there has not been any decision which stages they would go :s mokin:

Some news after a long outage of the forum. Unfortunately I have sad ones. Jaromir Tarabus seriously hurt his hands when opening a glass (it was cracked and broke just when he was trying to open it). He had to undergo a surgery because his nerves were cutted. They say it should be ok but he needs some three month of recovery.

Nothing personal against Odlozilik, but the color of his car must be the ugliest color I have ever seen on a rally car. It looks like a soap in a bathroom :)
Unfortunately it seems to be his favourite color ;)

Yes, and Kresta is in the lead again with 13 sec advance on Pech and 18,8 on Valousek. ;)
wwbroe
2nd May 2008, 17:23
Kresta is really reigning in Tsjechie and a lot faster then the rest. After three stages:
1. Kresta
2. Pech at 20"5
3. Valousek at 28"1
4. Orsak at 39"9
5. Trojan at 41"6
6. Odlozilik at 46"4
7. Stajf at 53"9
8. Pétak at 58"8
wwbroe
2nd May 2008, 18:23
Stage four is the first one that Kresta didn't make fastest time, this one goes to Pech, with Kresta only fourth quickest, but overall he stays in the lead with 18 sec in front of Pech. ;)
Tom206wrc
2nd May 2008, 20:08
Olodzilik is really consistently faster than Petŕk in the same car on that rally !!! :)
Roman is 5th overall and Jozef 7th overall after SS6(one stage left to go before end of leg) ;)
In front Kresta leading position is in danger, as Pech was 12s faster on SS6 and is back at 9s... :D
wwbroe
2nd May 2008, 20:45
At the end of day 1, after seven stages it is still Kresta in the lead, but Pech is really fighting back and narrowed the gap to just 9 sec.
1. Kresta
2. Pech at 9"0
3. Valousek at 1'01'7
Pétak is actually seventh, but no sign of Odlozilik on this final stage
Edit: He came trough finally and is in fourth position overall.

Yes, and Kresta is really on the move, he is another 17sec faster than Pech on this stage and now 38 sec in front overall.

Kresta made a bad tire choice for the second section of the day yesterday. But today, he really shows what he´s capable of. Just take a look at the impressive margin between him and Pech on SS 9 - 16.8 sec!

Karel Trojan retired in SS12.
How badly damaged is his car?
matSLO: Don't worry. He was driving his former car (he made an agreement to do three rallys in Seznam team colours with his former car he sold to that team - that car is usualy driven by Karel Trneny). Trojan's own car is prepared for Slovenia ;)
Karbonyl
3rd May 2008, 22:19
He just broke a wheel when landing to a ditch, no serious damage... But Chvojka's Lancer is written off - the car hit a tree after sliding on a oil soil from Trojan's crashed car. All happened behind a jump at quite fast section. Luckily the crew is OK.
I was at Krumlov and I must say it was the best rally for me in this season. Simply beautiful. A lot of sun (but some showers) and lightning storm on the horizont during the night stage. Nice stages, countryside and simply everythin great for me :)
Tom206: Odlozilik rolled just 100 meters from me on stage 10. He was 0,2 sec faster than Pech according to my mobile phone but he made realy stupid mistake when he rolled over a tractor tyres placed in the center of a hairpin, They were there because of not cutting over a pavement. His windscreen was broken but the car probably wasn't damaged. It was on a spectator's place so I'm sure there will be some videos and photos. Petak was somehow out of pace nd he knew that. But anyway in the finish he is fourth and that is great result. Especialy when Trojan scored no points.
Pavel Valousek used only 6 tyres for whole rally so he didn't try to attack the top runners as he had no chance. Kresta was very clean and smooth, he didn't even touch a grass to avoid some puncture (I saw 6 stages). Pech was cutting very much. But for me the best ones to watch were Behalek who was pushing like hell (and his crash wasn't a big surprise for me) and duo of 2WD drivers Sedlacek (Clio R3) and Slehofer (Punto S1600). They were fighting for every second and were very spectacular.

Flight to Vienna and renting car is the best choice, but Belgium by car isn't so far, travelling by car to Spain, Turkey or Bulgaria is much worse :)
If you will have any question or need any help about Barum rally, you can ask me here on forum or write PM or email.

Untill Brno it was quite ok, but the last part is not so interesting. Also to pass Praag at the highway was quite busy and a lot of traffic-jams. So this year we will fly to Vienna and do the rest with a rental car. I think it is about three hours drive, is that approximatly correct? Thanks for the reply. :)

I don't believe you, Pluto :-). I travel from Vienna to Zlin every week for three years and such time is not possible ;-). Maybe in the night and driving Subaru or by helicopter :-). How many "penalty-points" do you already have? The distance is 150 km, there is a lot of small villages (with max. speed 50km/hour), Austrian policemen are very rigorous and Austrians are building a new highway between Vienna and Czech borders. So, you can expect huge traffic there ;-).
