I see Ferrari showed off their 'radical' new nosecone. I hope they have a spare, they seem to have a hole in the one they are using. ;)

But Massa's best time was on slicks. His time was in the 1:22's with 2008 tires.

I think that it was also with 2009 aero. As was Wurz and PDLR.
I doubt that a Ferrari would have been as slow as Renault with 2008 aero otherwise! ;)

And Liuzzi ran with '09 aero on his Force India too. Force India's time was decent again looks like their looking pretty solid.

Especially if they're almost as fast as Renault with much less downforce!

I think Fisi will beat Alonso a few times before the end of this season :)

I find it most interesting that, running in 2009 spec, Massa was very quick. This suggests that the grooved tyres require so much more downforce in the corners - justifying all the apendages - that when they are all removed and slicks bolted on, the corner speed is probably similar, but straight line speed with uncluttered aero is much faster.

If Max wasn't otherwise engaged, he'd have kittens.

That could be right, and the slick tyres probably give so much more mechanical grip through the corners, even without all the little appendages. I bet the slicks give the driver more confidence to push the car. You're probably right about slightly higher straight line speeds.

Will the rev limit remain the same next year? I think it should be increased so that the guys have something to work with when they get a slipstream. it will be interesting to see whether or not the cars are easier to run behind with less downforce.

When did Fishi beat Fernando? I can only remember Fernando beating Hamilton at Barhein in his Renault :)
