Someone sent me a private message even though it is saying they are banned, i am no prude but even i do not like messages like this is there anywhere i can send it

I had the same problem

my guess is that he sent the PM before he was banned

Yep. The status under someones name reflects their status now not when the post was made or the pm sent.
