Bit of a vague explanation from them isn't it?

I know as much as everyone on here, its a shame we are not going to the rock tomorrow but hey, im sure he will sort it out for donington.

I honestly think they're better off getting out there and getting the experience.

If they don't think they are ready to race in the championship yet then they are better off waiting another few weeks. I really hope we see them for Donington Park.

It's a little bit disappointing. Maybe they could sort out a respray of their cars before Donington then.

Pretty difficult when they haven't even got the cars yet!

So what did they have at the BTCC Media Day? Go Karts? The team has at least one car built and I know they received the second at the end of March. So they haven't had much time, agreed, but surely they could have run just for the experience.

It was a SHOWCAR!

The team admitted it was!

Fair enough. Nevertheless, this (http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/66114) article indicates that they do have both cars and that it is the build of the second car that has delayed them thus far. Admittedly that was before Brands.

And now they are going to miss Donny as a sponsor has pulled out on them. They hope to be making one of the races in may!

I would love to see the alfas back on the track but like the lexus unless you have the back up of the manufacturer you will never have enough of a budget to make an impact. Development and reliability rely totally on unlimited funding. To have half a hope you use a make that has someone fund development that you can 'copy' and then hope to have the money to have enough spares to help the reliability factor. The drivers then have some hope of proving their worth. It might even help if the telly didn't just think there are only ten cars in the race. good luck to the likes of team BTC and Team 48 :s mokin:

The Alfa was developed using manufacturers money, like most manufacturers they had a smaller specialised company,in this case N Technology to do the R&D.The Lexus on the other hand has never had any official backing from either Lexus or Toyota. The 156 has had plenty of touring car successes around the world since it's introduction

I agree (about the lexus) but its been two years since Fiat bankrolled the Alfas (and it shows) The point I think I was trying to make is that if a team wants to be sure they are going to make a big mark they are unlikley to do so with one of these makes and if the former is their aim the latter isn't going to happen, expecially on a budget. By the way this proves how 'BRAVE' the BTC team were. I'll be watching them on the box today.
