He had a massive crash in qualifying, COT held up very well.

That was a nast crash,one of the worst in recent memory,but am glad he walked away from it when the car was burning while he was flipping 8 times.

I was there. It was hard hit. An he made a serious rookie mistake by over-correcting when he broke loose.

What does a crash like that sound like live? I bet it's awful for the spectators. When everyone talked about it I didn't expect it to be such a huge accident.

As for overcorrecting, well he was doing 190+ you have to be spot on and anyone would have had trouble for that.

He actually broke loose in some speedy dry. We saw it live and you can see if clearer on TV (HD shows it well), but Nascar said he didn't hit any. His rear end was coming around and he corrected pretty deep into the slide, which made the car hook up and straight into the wall.

Was at Lowes last May, and above all the engine and crowd noise, you really do know when someone hits the wall, and no one hit the wall very hard when we were there.

I can only imagine what it sounded like up close and personal for the poor guy. Must have felt like Chicken Little
