From speedtv forums.
Would be amazing if true. Unfortunately I don't think Red Bull is that smart. They'll probably continue to have AJ and Speed rot in tintops.

I wouldn't be surprised if it happened and was the prelude to a full '09 or even partial '08 run. A.J. and Scott would be much more useful to Red Bull racing Indycars. It would also free up the 84 for a driver who knows how to drive a stock car.

AJ's been out of that car for weeks now. Mike Skinners been in it and doing a lot better than AJ.... well when I say a lot better... he's been qualifying for the race, which is a step better than AJ.

I'm sure Dallara will have a good amount of cars built by Indy. As for parts... don't believe what you hear from Carl Haas. Rahal easily could've got parts and even another car at Homestead. There is no shortage.

There are better chassis sitting in the garages of former teams, the chassis are built in the U.S. and the money for the chassis and parts STAY in the United States.
BTW Haas team is not on the scale of a Rahal or Roth or Panther etc. They are a top level professional racing team and when they said they wasn't enough spare parts they ment what they said. The suppliers did not deliver the spare parts they require to to their shops in time. They run all their parts through stick quality control procedures before approving them for their team use. They would not and will not take a part off someone's shelf and throw it on their car. They were also offered spare chassis from several teams which they rejected because they would not have enough time to be prepared to their specs. Perfect case in point is that the chassis they first received was well used chassis and was sent back as rejected because the tub was repaired a number of times at Dallara and flexed like crazy thus they only had two chassis with no backup prepared. You can bet that NHL will have two or three new chassis prior to Indy.
If you are a professional team would you want to receive everyone's scraps? That is exactly what the Champcar teams have been receiving which are the backup of the backup chassis of teams and tubs that have more flight time then on track time being sent back and forth to Italy. If you read comments by the teams they have stated that the so called chassis would show up at their shops as a box of used pieces. They weren't rollers, they were parts boxes filled with used old parts. I appauld NHL as they would not put their driver on a track with a car or parts they had no faith in.

Scraps? If it means racing or not racing you are going to take those "scraps" no matter what team you are. There's no reason not to. And if they are still too stubborn to be helped out by other teams then obviously it is their own fault, not the fault of the suppliers or the series.
And the last I checked Penske was a major team too, it wasn't just the Roths, Rahals, and Panthers that were willing to help them out.
Carl Haas just wants to make the series look bad so he can get rights to be the series parts supplier. Sadly people like you believe his little charade and we might get a private team in charge of supplying the entire series.
As for the other chassis. Are you going to buy them for all the teams and build the rest needed yourself? Not to mention pay for all the testing and oval packages required. I hope you got a big wallet there, dude. I'm sure the series wouldn't mind your charity, but it makes absolutely no sense for them to even consider the DP-01 otherwise.

they were due to be delivered their 3rd chassis this past week and their 4th before Kansas.
That is the same for all 2 cars teams transitioning from champ car.

Getting back on subject, can you imagine what a series this would be if we could get Speed, AJ, Dornboos and of course PT. They need to be there, they are wasting their time in Naskar,or in their living rooms. Get the young and the "experienced", and help build this series back up to where it belongs. And throw Tags in there too. Now, who in hell wouldn't want to watch that!
Get em, get em now, and keep them.

Does Penske still have distribution rights to race shocks? There are a few owners whose companies have exclusive distribution rights for specific racing parts. That picture never changes very much.

I'd love to see Speed and Almendinger in Indycars with Red Bull. I hear Gannassi is looking for a new sponsor...
Sounds great, now all we need is for Tracy to get a permanent seat, Scheckter to have one to and we will have a huge Indy 500.

Q. Any plans for 2nd Full Time IndyCar Series Car & Driver after the Indy 500?
A. (4-5-08) Highly unlikely. We are still working toward adding a second IndyCar Series entry at Indianapolis, which will be No. 83 with driver TBA. It's also possible we could run a third Firestone Indy Lights entry as well for the Freedom 100. Now, if we add a second driver at Indy and he wins .... he might stay in a car. Remember Buddy Lazier in 2005? He had a great run for us and we eventually ran him in five more races that season. This is from the Q&A section from www.pantherracing.com (http://www.pantherracing.com) anyone familiar with RedBull knows about 8.3 oz. and the use of that number on the cars of Carpantier in ICS and Vickers in Nascar.
Just putting it up here, take it for what it's worth.
Speed, Doornbos? Pick 'em? AJ is a free agent after the season, would love to see him back.

Not for long though if he can't qualify. Mateschitz and Steiner were very arrogant to think A.J could compete at a spring cup level basically fresh out of champ car.

Wouldn't be surprised if they get a buyer for Torro Rosso, keep one team in F1, and return to IndyCar as a sponsor for a mid-level team.
After that, the choice of drivers will be between the chosen team's management and Red Bull.
