Can't Tony George come up with anything original?

First with the paddle shifters from F1 and Champ Car, not this. can't Tony think of anything original?

I think the main reason he is doing this is because on small tight circuits like St. Pete's, 26 cars on track would be hard to swing for qualifying. I think asides from single lap qualifying (which I don't want), this is the only way to go where we won't see a caution every lap, or blocking as much.
