Didn't see the race, but followed on the Web. Did I hear Milka blaming someone in front of her that didn't know what he was doing, causing her spin? The radio guys didn't seem to think there was anyone there.

There was someone in front of her shortly before she spun. The tape didn't go back far enough to see if there was any interaction between the two of them, so I couldn't say. It was clear in front of that other car, so I suspect he was following a normal line and if he were going slower, it should have been no problem for her to pass him. Maybe she's not used to there being cars on the track that were slower than she was.

HA HA HA! Pot, meet Kettle!! She's got no business calling anyone out. She got loose, lost it and spun. She knew just as everyone else did out there that there were several drivers making their first oval starts EVER.

After all the flack she has taken (rightfully so) do you blame her for taking a shot at someone? Would be awful hard to resist!

The thing is, she has kept her nose pretty clean in her short IndyCar career. Aside from being off the pace, I cant think where Milka has caused a single incident of note.

Not sure if this is meant as tongue-in-cheek, or a serious comment, or a bit of both, but either which way I'd say this is pretty much 100% bang on!

I am not a Milka fan, and wondered what the h**l she was doing out there last year. But in the interest of fairness, in this particular case she might have a point. From the tiny bit of video in the first replay, there was a car right in front of her, as in a few feet. Oddly enough, later replays only showed the spin. The unanswered questions are, who was it and what were they doing? Considering she was in the middle lane, she had room top and bottom. With Briscoe coming up behind her on the outside, any professional would have tried to stay in the middle groove or lower. But if the car moved in front of her at the last minute, as in drifting up, she had no where to go but hit them or spin. She may very well have tried to pinch the car down to avoid the car in front and not move up in front of Briscoe. I am not saying she is blameless, but we don't know the whole story either. Her options may have been very limited by circumstances.

What may be more revealing are Briscoe's remarks. He just said Milka spun and didn't place blame (at least on the air). He would have seen the whole incident, but chose not to elaborate. Either it was just a racing incident or he was being a gentleman and not placing any blame anywhere.

It has been pointed out in many circles that the rookies were given a LOT more latitude that Milka got last year. Some of them were slow generally and slowed down (like Milka did last year) when the leader blew past. Some had their speed drop into the 180's when the pack went past. They were professionals and held their line, and most stayed a the top or very bottom when anyone came up to pass them. Obviously, there is a element of political correctness here to speak kindly of the the noobs as they were at a severe disadvantage, but still.....

Overall, I think for the first time Milka acquitted herself pretty well. She wasn't much slower than Buddy in similar equipment, actually raced and passed a few people, and generally had a quiet race. Her lap times were pretty consistent, even when the leaders went by. Had she not spun, people would be talking about how much she improved. By the way, I haven't seen many derogatory posts about Viso, who did spin all on his own.

I would say Viso falls into the "cut the ex-CCWS guys (or teams to be more precise) some slack category". He has a proven record in F3, F3000 and GP2 and is definitely the more talented of the two Venezuelans.

BUT - I'm afraid he does not escape my wrath. When the hell did Ernesto become "EJ", exactly? :D
