Hi,

This week-end is the first event of the 2008 spanish tarmac rallies championship with 2007 champion Miguel Fuster(Fiat Grande Punto S2000)who will try to keep his title from the return of a big Peugeot squadron(Enrique Garcia-Ojeda and Oscar Garre)... :p :

A total of five S2000s on the entrylist, and many GT cars from Porsche, Ferrari or Nissan...

A few GrN cars but they don't seem to be driven by top-drivers(maybe I'm wrong though)

Pitty no trace of Alberto Hevia who drove the Polo S2000 last year and was targetting a Ferrari GT this year :(
No trace of Jesus Puras neither...

Live results should be on:

As i'm looking at their website, i see that the last stage (SS10- Relleu-Confrides) seems to be 52,062 Km in lenght? Can anybody of our Spanish collegues confirm this? Thanks

It looks like "Quicke" Ojeda has found a real contender for the victory with Luis Monzon !!!! :)

After two stages only 4.2s sparate them(Monzon was equal fast to Ojeda on SS2) ;)

Where's Miguel Fuster on SS2

It was a mistake about Fuster ;)

After SS3 he's still 3rd overall behind Ojeda and Monzon...

Does anyone know if there are any WRC's in spanish national or regional championships this year?

Gorka Apalantza drives a Subaru Impreza WRC (he won the Rallysprint Ikasberri with this car two weeks ago), Xavier Lujua drives a Škoda Octavia WRC, Santi Artetxe drives a Peugeot 307 WRC and won the Rallysprint de Gaviria earlier this year, Ramón Apalantza drives a Mitsubishi Lancer WRC.

In the national championship, the WRC's are already for many years forbidden.

Monzon has taken over the lead after SS4, looks like Ojeda has lost about 20 sec on this stage!! ;)

Ojeda seems to be having problems, lost a lot of time on stage 5 again and drops back to third behind Monzon and Fuster.

Nice to see L. Mozon performing like in the old days!!
Ojeda has retired due differential problems but I'm not sure...

Still a Peugeot in the lead, Monzon is still leading Fuster with Vallejo in the Porshe in third. Only one stage to go, but what a stage :o . It is 52,062 Kms in lenght and has started just now. Let's wait and see if thing will change in this "monster"-stage. ;)

Monzon loses his lead in the last 52 km long stage, so Suster takes the victory in front of Monzon and Vallejo.Suster took this last stage with an average speed of more then 96 Km/h, wich is not bad at all. So finally no victory for Peugeot but first one for Fiat and Suster.

Mama mia...!!! Monzon has lost too much time and the victory goes to the spanish champion Miguel Fuster...

Tom, I think you not going sleep very well tonight... :p
