i'd rather have the BBC advertising their capture of F1 than the return of Riiiiiiiiiiiiccccccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkyyyy yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy and Bianca to Eastenders.

So BBC have basically traded football to ITV. What does it matter, football on ITV runs through without any adverts so it will make little difference for those watching. Unlike with F1

Heck!! if the BBC wanted to broadcast the best footy in the world, just make an offer to the AFL. Aussi Rules would make any other form of football ancient history. OK!! maybe not Gaelic Football - that is good also.

Have they been "Ramming" it down our throats? I haven't seen much about it?

Sounds to me like a disgruntled Journo looking to engineer a story :)

As for Football, then get rid of all of it and have some decent domestic Rugby please BBC / ITV!!

Hell man!! you need to watch a good footy game; see if you can watch the Essendon vs Collingwood game on Anzac day.

I'm just waiting for the BBC to land that particular "coup de grace" and I'll be glued to the screen.... honest ;)

There will be blood and guts for sure - this is the big game each year; fills the MCG to capacity each year. Just to keep pino happy that I am discussing the BBC and F1, if I was in England and had the choice of watching F1 or the Anzac Day game, I'd choose the Anzac Day game anytime.

I think what we all want to see the Beeb capture is the rights to the Blue Square Premier games. Proper football there.

As for F1 I think the beeb has a right to celebrate after so many years on ITV. Also with lewis doing well they know that viewership is on the up.

You have to feel sorry for ITV in a way. The BBC had the coverage the whole time when British drivers were doing well, for Mansell and for Hill. ITV secured the coverage the year Damon Hill won the world championship, but by the time they'd started broadcasting in 1997 Hill had moved to Arrows and there was no serious UK championship challenge (unless you count Irvine!)

Now as again we have a British driver in a top car, the coverage is going back to the BBC.

That's not faire, what about bunsen? :(

Well, they don't kiss each other like some soccer players do when they fake a penalty.

I prefer sports that I can understand. This is what the BBC should be after http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ihi4xyo2PZk

To be honest I'm not that bothered that the Beeb has got F1, especially if they let Hammond present it (he hates the blooming sport). I'd prefer if they just had old clips like these.

I was too young to experience a lot of the Murray years so would be perfectly happy to watch old repeats

"Do my eyes deceive me, or is Senna's Lotus sounding rough ?"

"I can't imagine what kind of problem Senna has. I imagine it must be some sort of grip problem"

"and this is the third placed car about to lap the second placed car"

"So Bernie [Ecclestone], in the seventeen years since you bought McLaren, which of your many achievements do you think was the most memorable ?" Bernie Answers, "Well I don't remember buying McLaren." [Bernie Ecclestone used to own the Brabham team].
