the result is not as impressive as it sounds, 3 professionally setup IDM superbikes against mostly amateurs, still, its not an easy thing to do so good for him

Still, impressive though.

I think the rumors will start flying after this.

He did not go to the podium afterwards..

At least he's not changed since he retired from F1:P

Fair play to him for going out and doing it - clearly there'd be no truth to any rumours of him doing any racing in a more renowned series at present, but am quite impressed with this news nonetheless.

Well I guess when you have more trophies than you can fit in a house a little plastic trophy from an amateur superbike race is not a big deal

Also if anything Schumacher always seemed happy to be on the podium even after 150+ F1 podiums, unlike some other F1 greats like Prost and Senna that always seemed to expect to be on the podium.

Shame he was racing against 600's and was beaten by the only other two 1000cc riders..

I don't really like Schumacher at all but the negativity surrounding this is a little amusing. The guy loves bikes, decided to race in a low profile event with no fanfare as opposed to just doing a trackday and managed to finish 3rd, miles behind a couple of professional riders (Andy Meklau was a very handy rider). At least he's seen the light that the bikes are superior to the cars!

Much as I enjoy watching bike racing I don't think I would agree that bikes are better.

I have to agree with Clint. An ex F1 legend throws the leg over a bike and races against guys that have most likely raced many times before, and come third is awesome. Sure he may have had a 1000cc bike, but it still doesn't diminish this acheivment IMO. Good on him, I hope he gets more involved in 2 wheel racing.
