Benvenuti al forum, Loris.

It doesn't matter that your English isn't great.

Here's what I have on the Rally della Lana since 1992:

@kabouter:
You have Joakim Roman's co-driver as Ingrid Mitakidou (http://www.rallybase.nl/index.php?type=profile&driverid=1454).

But if you look there (http://www.rallycodrivermagazine.co.uk/public/topcodrivers/tinamitakidou.htm) you will find that her name is Tina.

BTW: It's her birthday today: 42 on 24 April 2008 (b. 1966).

She appears as both Tina and Ingrid on entry lists... :s Perhaps there's somebody who knows her who can shed some light on this?

Can anyone help? There was a Ford Escort Mk3 which competed on the 1983 Monte Carlo Rally. The model car box says its an XR3 yet the decals have 1600i with no RS. So what is it an xr3i or rs1600i, the car in question is #18 driver & co driver are Romain Feitler(Lux) & Jean-Rene Dubois(Fra). Also what was the reason for retirement.

Cheers

Well, I believe the RS1600i was homologated on 1.1.83.
Although it therefore was eligible, it is highly unlikely a private entry would have been that close after the homologation date. Works cars sometimes appear on an International days after homologation but it's all too difficult/uncertain for a private entry.

Short story of the 1980 YU Rallye:

First leader was the Gianello-Rorato duo from Italy with a Lancia Stratos.
2nd was Italian Filippi-Maffei, Opel Ascona.
On the 5th and 6th ss. Tara-35km, Ferjancz "hit" the Italians with more than 30s, and keep the lead up to the finish.

If your question is about these:

" I have a lot of good photos - original negatives - YU Rallye 1973: start, drivers, cars on special stages, finish.....I am looking for somebody with same photos, I am working on an article.... "

Those photos are " too good " for the Internet.

Very interesting the old Saab(?) "60" behind Droogmans Escort:
http://img146.imageshack.us/my.php?image=2droogmansgeron61gb3.jpg

The Bohemia-81 was a big Droogmans-Ferjancz battle:
After 6th special stage:
1. Ferjancz
2. Droogmans +23s
After 10th ss.:
1. Droogmans
2. Ferjancz +1s
After 21st ss.:
1. Droogmans
2. Ferjancz +44s(+ Ferjancz got 60s penalty, because of an early start)
Here, Ferjancz started the big-pursuit(they hoped - the organisers will cancell the penalty):
After 38th ss.:
1.Droogmans
2. Ferjancz +11s
(Ferjancz had problems with the shocks)
Final results after 48 ss.;
1. Droogmans 3h 47min 53s
2. Ferjancz 3h 48min 17s
3. Krupa 4h 02min 42s

Do you have any information about the special-stages in Yugoslavia of this rallye ?
How many ss. ? Where ? How long ? Tarmac or gravel ?

There were two SS in Yugoslavia:

The first one, was a tight tarmac road from Titogard to Kotor (80 km long), under the name of Montenegro

The second one, was a mixture of tarmac and gravel roads from Glainoc to Bosanska Krupa (192 km long), under the name of Serbia

At Rallybase Tjeerd only has „Nielsen/Henriksen“ on car # 28 at the 1970 Rallye Monte-Carlo, a Volvo 142 of a Danish duo in 30th place.

Recently I found out they were Jens Nielsen (http://www.danskerbiler.dk/english/jens_nielsen/_e_jens_nielsen_main.html) (b. 1919) and Henning Henriksen (http://www.danskerbiler.dk/english/henning_henriksen/_e_henning_henriksen_main.html) (b. 1932).

@ Reinhard: You got Bart Luijbregts twice, but he is not Belgian but from Valkenswaard (NL). And Dimi is the short form of Dimitrios Mavropoulos from Cyprus, but who had a British RAC MSA licence for many years, as he used to live or still lives in London.

I'm pretty sure Simon Everett's co-driver on TAC 83 was Dave West. I think the same question came up once before on here and I didn't know - which is embarrassing because I competed in TAC83 and spoke to Simon after the finish when he was lifting out the engine with the "cherry-picker" used by the town of Tielt to maintain the street lighting!
Dave West is listed as his co-driver in the Ieper 83 entry list, where "Mac.H." is also listed as entrant/club. Belgian entry lists always were a bit confusing regarding entrant, as they usually listed an inconsistent mixture of commercial entrant or the motor club to which the crew belonged. I don't recall Mac.H. as being a club but I would have thought his entrant would have been "Tuborg Racing" or a similar name.
Other names like Vandermaesen and Budo, with no other obvious conection than a club are also shown as "Mac.H.".

I know this woman! Her birthname is Ingrid, but she´s been called Tina by all of her friends... Its the same one anyway :p !
She has´nt been codriving for quite some time, but is planning to start again :D ! She had a baby two years ago, a Liam  !

She appears as both Tina and Ingrid on entry lists... :s Perhaps there's somebody who knows her who can shed some light on this?

@kabouter (Tjeerd, are you still looking?)
I'm still reading the forum, but haven't got time at the moment to work on RallyBase. I'll add all the dates you found to the database as soon as I start working on the site again.

At 1997 Neste Finland Rally, a Skoda Felicia finished in 25th, but who was the driver; Emil Triner or Regis Triboulet?
I've found some sources stating one, some the other?

It was Triner. I guess somebody made an error entering the driver into a database, seeing that both driver names start with Tri...

Thanks Tjeerd!

One more, at 1997 RAC, Medeghini's Escort was a privateer or a works entry?

Sorry to bother you, but you've come up in my search. The Geraint Phillips listed in one of your posts - did he have a house in Ditton, nr Maidstone, Kent and another place in Naivasha, Kenya, a son called Allin and a daughter named Kerry (?), and was he a helicopter pilot as well as an ex rally driver?? IF so, then I guess that sadly he must be the same Gerry Phillips who was a very dear friend of mine, until I lost contact with him during 96 and have been trying to get back in touch with ever since.I would be SO grateful for ANY information you might be able to give me on this PLEASE.

@seacasa:
Geraint "Gerry" Phillips was a rally co-driver (look here for Tjeerd's statistics on him (http://www.rallybase.nl/index.php?type=profile&driverid=10452)) & a journo.
He was born in 1931 (I don't know the exact date but would like to learn it) and died in Kenya in a traffic accident in December 1996.

From AUTOSPORT's (short and uncredited) obituary (12 Dec 1996)
Rallying lost one of its most endearing characters last Wednesday when Gerry Phillips was killed in a road accident in Kenya. The veteran journalist was in the country he loved for the memorial service of a friend when the accident happened.
Phillips, like Denis Jenkinson, was a lynchpin of reportage in Motor Sport and for many his reports from the World Rally Championship were a vital link with the series.
His experience was vast and it should not be forgotten that he was Ari Vatanen's co-driver when the fiery young Finn made his overseas debut on the Rally of Jamaica in 1975.
Whether it was recounting outrageous and hilarious stories in his own blend of Welsh and Swahili, puffing on his trademark pipe or enjoying his second love of fying a helicopter, Gerry was the life and soul of many a party.Unfortunately there are no hints at his family members.

I cannot think of anyone else in rallying with the same name who would remotely fit your description. Apart from co-driving the likes of Ove Andersson, GP was Rallies editor of Motoring News (now Motorsport News) under the same pseudonym "Verglas" used by his predecessors back to Stuart Turner.
The only place of residence I have seen was Glynnedd, Morgannwg in early 1970s but it would fit that he had to live somewhere nearer London later on when working for Motorsport as well as MN. He developed a passion for Kenya after first reporting on the Safari, made friends there with people who flew light aircraft and I think I recall him eventually having a place there.
The best forum I could suggest asking on is :
http://www.britishrally.co.uk/rally/
Some older rally people post there regularly, although many are too young to be able to give you a definitive answer.

Here's the Nissan list. All codrivers are belgian, unless specified otherwise

Juha thank you very much for the great list. I have compared these files to the ones in my records and found some variations:
1) Everett - Circuit des Adrennes 1983
According to my records he finished 3rd, not fourth
2) Everett - Haspengouw 1983
I think he retired with a broken gearbox
3) Roothaert - Hannut 1985
My records say he finished 3rd and not 6th
4) Roothaert - TAC 1985
I have found a source saying he retired because of "voortrein", but would not know how to translate it correctly.

Again thanks for you help so far. Doing some further research on the web I found images of the 240RS on two events in Belgium in 1987. Hopefully someone can fill the gaps:

Rally Hautes Fagnes 1987
No. 1 was a red Nissan driven by Duez Was this Marc Duez? And would anybody know the result and the name of his codriver?
Also Flory Roothaert drove a Nissan on this event. I am missing the result of him, the name of the codriver and the start number.

Rally Hannut 1987
I am missing the result and name of Flory Roothaerts codriver
Also Mondron drove a 240RS, would anybody know the registration, result and name of his codriver?

Finally I am looking for the dates of some events:
Snowman Rally 1988
Wydean Stages 1988
Cork 20 1988

Sorry for asking so many questions. Hopefully I will be able to help other users of the forum in the future. I should have a lot of sources to answer questions about WRC events in the 1970s and 1980s.

Thanks
Dkone

1) Everett - Circuit des Adrennes 1983

The winner, Snijers, was disqualified, leaving Evrett 3rd. But two weeks later Snijers was declared the winner. Your records probably don't include Snijers.

2) Everett - Haspengouw 1983
I think he retired with a broken gearbox
I have video footage of the car, and it's definitely an engine problem.

3) Roothaert - Hannut 1985
My records say he finished 3rd and not 6th
I have two sources stating he was 6th. Jean-Louis Dumont was supposed to take care of the car's setup, but he had a fatal accident a few weeks before the rally, so the car was useless.

4) Roothaert - TAC 1985
I have found a source saying he retired because of "voortrein", but would not know how to translate it correctly.
The front drivetrain (that's what it is) was bent.

Again thanks for you help so far. Doing some further research on the web I found images of the 240RS on two events in Belgium in 1987. Hopefully someone can fill the gaps:

I had forgotten to look for 1987 results. Roothaert still drove a Nissan, registered 5756 MAN, in the national championship.

20-21/3, Hannut:
4th, Flory Roothaert - Georges Van Oosten
9th, Guy Leonard - Dombret
I think Leonard was the man who owned most of the Nissans and hired them to other drivers.

4/4 Rallye des Hautes Fagnes
4th: Roothaert-Wauters (probably driving 5756 MAN during that year)
5th: Duez-Grenier

23-24/5 Criterium Olivier Gendebien
4th Roothaert - Van Oosten

6-7/5 Les 12 heures de Marche
6th Roothaert - Wauters

20-21/6 Les 12 heures de Braine le Comte
1st Roothaert - Wauters

13/9 Internationale Rally van Looi
3rd Roothaert - Wauters
7th Erik Vleminckx - Ivan Kneuts (Ill try to find out what he registration was)

26-27/9 Rallye d'Aubel
7th, Jean-Pierre Mondron - Freddy Macq

17-18/10 Boucles de Ličges
7th, Jean-Pierre Mondron - Freddy Macq

1987 International championship, with a separate group B class:

6-8/3, Circuit des Ardennes
Roothaert - Wauters
1st group B, nr 105, 5756 MAN

1-2/5 Rallye de Wallonie
Roothaert - Wauters
Crash

28-30/8 Bianchi rally
Roothaert - Wauters
1st group B

19-20/9 Omloop van Vlaanderen
Roothaert - Wauters
Clutch faillure

1988 National championship:

26-27/3/1988, Hannut:
7th, Flory Roothaert - Georges Van Oosten
Car entered as Nissan Silvia all year long.

9-10/4/88 TAC Rally
4th, Flory Roothaert - Georges Van Oosten

16-17/4 Rallye des Hautes Fagnes
4th: Roothaert-Wauters

8/5 Sezoensrally
2th, Flory Roothaert - Georges Van Oosten

19/6 Les 12 heures de Braine le Comte
4th Roothaert - Wauters

27-28/8 Bianchi rally
4th Roothaert - Wauters

24-25/9 Rallye d'Aubel
6th Roothaert - Wauters

And further back into time, the 1983 national championship, where Dumont drove BXI 5024, named "Nissan Silvia":
9-10/4, 500 KM d'Andenne, Dumont-Dombret, 3rd
23-24/4, Ronde du Nouveau Namur, Dumont-Eddy Borremans, 1st
7-8/5, Criterium Olivier Gendebien, Dumont-Paul? Fraikin, 1st
21-22/5, 12 Heures de Marche, Dumont-Borremans, nr 4, 1st
29/5, 12 Heures de Braine-le-Comte, Dumont-Borremans, 1st
11-12/6 Grenslandrally, Dumont-Bielen, 5th
25/9 Ronde Visé-Aubel, Everett-Lux, BXI 5030, nr 3, 1st

In 1984, Dumont was an FIA prioritary driver so he couldn't win the national championship. The car was driven by Etienne Barras.

24/3, Hannut, Barras-Georges Biar, nr 6,2nd
12/5, Criterium Olivier Gendebien, Barras-Biar, 2nd

27/5, 12 Heures de Braine le Comte
- Barras-Biar, nr 5, 17th (they ran out of fuel on the first stage)
- Michel de Deyne - Philippe? Bouvier, J 26551, 15th
- Fraikin, nr 24, probably retired

12 Heures de Marche, Barras-Biar, nr 3,crash
16/9/84, Ronde Visé-Aubel, Barras-Biar, 4th
Grenslandrally, Barras-Biar, 5th

Boucles de Ličge
- Barras-Biar, nr 6, 1st
- Thierry Reginster - Marc Delmelle, J 14202, nr 4, 3rd
- Evrett - ?, nr 3, ???664X, DNF

That should be all. :)
