LOL Pluto... I'm not, why doesn't he come to Ypres? :)

Seriously, I think some rallysites are visited a lot by international users and a very short summarary in english would help a lot of wrong interpreted rumours out of the world. On the other hand, I don't want to be to demanding, it's awesome sites like yours exists, keep up the good work.

Yeah, the weather wasn't really represntive for Turkey I guess, and the second day of testing was even cancelled because there was to much snow, so not really the best possible preparation for Rally Istanbul. You can also find a little video of the test on:

We can expect a nice fight for victory, let's hope some more manufacturers will come into the IRC championship, so that it will not always be a fight between Punto en 207. :p

Geographical characteristics of Istanbul Rally is very similar to Finland Stages: fast and lots of bumps.
I think the most interesting stage is SS10 Ballica B-1. Some part of this stage was used in a National Rally named Pirelli in 2005.
The bump at the approximately 6 km away from the starting point of this stage is very dangerous. At that point 3 cars ran out of road after the bump.

, now there is a natural barrier to reduce the speed. Here are the pictures of that bump:

I have been following WRC for about 8 years now, but as it gets worse and worse, I decided to wander over to the IRC forum and se what's going on.

If someone could post a link, or write somethig here to teach me about this years IRC, the drivers, teams and the cars, I would appreciate it.

I've heard there are some familiar facs from WRC in the IRC, like Kopecky, Sola and Panizzi - are they any good? Kopecky used to be one of my favourite drivers.

Any help appreciated.

The competition should be very close and the cars handle more like rally cars should handle, on gravel at least.

Hard to believe that time of Kopecky, especially as it was his on his first run. It looks more like a timing error.

Anyway, here are the fastest shakedown times in order of fastest time:
Jan Kopecky (Peugeot) 1.01,6 (or 1.05,1)
Brice Tirabassi (Peugeot) 1.04,3
Freddy Loix (Peugeot ) 1.04,4
Nicolas Vouilloz (Peugeot) 1.04,8
Luca Rossetti (Peugeot) 1.05,0
Dani Solą (Fiat) 1.05,2
Renato Travaglia (Fiat) 1.05,5
Serkan Yazici (Mitsubishi) 1.06,1
Giovanni Manfrinato (Mitsubishi) 1.06,7
Michal Solowow (Fiat) 1.07,0
Mehmet Besler (Subaru) 1.07,2
Krum Donchev (Subaru) 1.07,9
Luca Betti (Mitsubishi) 1.07,9

Yes Tom, Vouilloz also had a puncture but didn't have to change the wheel. The reason Loix lost so much time was that during the wheel change, the system to lift the car was blocked and they didn't manage to let the car down again. Yesterday they did do wheel changes in less then two minute's, now they lost almost four

I dont think this is a good idea. Maybe on WRC in the past, where are agreements with tyre manufacturers. But not in this championship, where everybody can use tyres, which he wants. Last year I have seen sometimes in Eurosport results tyre marks at some drivers, but they were using different tyres or changing them during race.

I dont think, that this is important (and mostly discoverable info) to take place in results...

Secondly, still not clear, if how many rounds we will follow. We started this due ERC, not IRC, to be honest. But maybe, if we will find some possibility to cooperate with official tyre suppliers and somebody, who will be able to send us necessary infos, we can start to think about it.

For me there is something wrong with their timesheets. If you add penalties, how can those have any effect on stagetimes? They are supposed to be added in the overall timecounting and not in any stagetime. They changed Loix time on stag 9 allready three times, so I am wondering which one is the correct one    .
Normally they should add a separate colum in the time results where you can see the added penalties, it is really not that difficult in my opion

It is different. First step - into results are added penalties, of course not into time.

Second step - they are repairing or changing times on stages during whole rally (I dont know why - mistake of timekeeper? mistake of computer? mistake of printer?)...

Donchev's Subaru is prepared by Tommi Makinen Racing. Donchev is not very fast on gravel, because they don't have this kind of rallies in Bulgaria. But on tarmac he's not bad...

For your information - if you look at the rally results on IRC website you will not see Donchev, because it is not allowed to drive Subaru in IRC. So, although he is in 9th position you will not see him in the standings here:

There are larger spaces btw the drivers than I remember from last year, but there are two possible fights for position in the top.

1st and second: Rossetti vs Vouillos 15,9 sec
3rd and 4th: Travaglia vs Alen 8,7 sec

Any bets ?

@Sulland
don t think that is going something to change..
Rosseti in last stage is faster than previous stages, just controlling Vouilloz.
the same as Travaglia vs Allen
