Anyone that knows if Abarth are doing any upgrades on the 08 model, to try to catch the 207 ?

If so, what are they doing ?

Yes, they are doing upgrades. They were talking about it some months ago.

I think upgrades were focussed on engine and transmission, guess we will find out more when the IRC season kicks off.

Yes, they say the new engine is some 10 Hp stronger but we'll see...

Ok, so in what areas did the Abarth GP loose out compared to the Pug ?

Only engine and transmission, or more areas ?

I think You should ask some driver who drove both cars ;) The engine is obvious. Transmission should be almost the same since it is Sadev made under special FIA homologation for both cars.

During Rajd Magurski Kosciuszko said that Peugeot gives also better feedback on setup changes and is easyier to drive.

Peugeot superior budget doesn't allow much cathcing up from the FIAT team i think.....

I am not so sure there is a huge difference between them anyway. Things could be different now Abarth have Alen and Basso in the works cars this year.

I thought FIA brought the S2000s and rules in order of equality of all cars whatever the constructor is

I don't think that was the target. The target was to have rules that allow to build cheaper rallycars. That's why they thought of a standard transmission for example. Also special metals are not allowed...

The 08 Abarth look wider than the 07, is it or is it just my eyes ?

Any feedback from drivers of the other upgrades, did they work ?

Mirek

I think that maximum allowed width is 1800 mm and the old one was actualy that wide.

Ok, need glasses then, since I also thought that it looks different...

But have anyone said something on the 08 upgrades, have they improved the car ? Rumours has it Abarth is continuing development as I write !

I remember that, Enrique Garcia Ojeda test up a new transmission in Villa Joiosa (Spanish Championship) in his 207 S2000, but he broke the transmission very quickly...

This things happen when you`re trying advancing and upgrading some elements :(
