As you guys know by now I recently purchased CMR2 for PC (having played the PS1 version for years). It's been a difficult initiation....

I'm fast on tarmac, and once I had my wingpad connected I made a go at France SS10. My best time was 20 seconds off my PS1 best time!!!!!

Even worse, my gearing was WAY off (never nudged six), and the run was nearly flat out with no breaking. I had to dumb the steering all the way to a -5 so that the car was controllable.

For anyone on PC I stand in awe of your performances regardless of how fast you are, beacuse i would be behind all of you.

As an aside, the cars seems much better behaved on gravel. The PS1 has much to envy in terms of turn-in, but I just don't know if I could ever work up to my PS1 times with this setup.

Try gravel stages with a keyboard, see how close you can get there, because once you're used to it you'll be faster. ;)

Stick with the wheel. After a couple of weeks you'll get the feel for it and your times will crash rather than your car. :p :

I've had the impression a wheel is the way to go with a PC. I can see the steering input is much much better than a console. A wheel would complete the effect...
