I am surprised that so many think that Dovi will be the man, I think he will be, but I thought most people would think that Heehaw, (thats donkey speak for ASS) would be the #1 contender for rookie of the year. I just think that from past performances, Dovi will just knuckle down and get stuck into it. I think he is level headed, consistent, and very talented.

I rate Dovi higher than Lorenzo and whilst still probably playing a bit of catch-up for equipment, I still think he will beat Jorge to ROTY status. They are both extremely impressive so early in their MotoGP careers.

I think Dovi will be the best rookie in 2008, that's not to say he'll have the best results (I think Jorge will) but I think Dovi is more talented and clever than Jorge, JT and AdA.

No matter your preference though you've got to admit the 2008 rookie class is a very impressive one, four men that should have long MotoGP careers ahead of them.

My understanding with the best is something performed better or ahead of the rest in the comparison (which is obvious from the first result as itself explanatory). ;)

Wow, good question. Probably Lorenzo scores the biggest amount of points of them, but it's a hard guess, who is the best of them. When last year three riders seemed to be above others, then now they have suddenly got three very strong rivals. :D Wonder, when will Dovi get a new bike or even replace Hayden at Repsol Honda?

I want it to be Toseland (or Dovi) but the reality is that it will be Lorenzo as he's the only rookie with a factory bike.

Toseland won't get the parts that Lorenzo gets until much later in the year - already the case with the much lower spec engine in the Tech 3 bike.

Dovi and De Angelis will have the same issue with their Honda's.

Depends on what you mean by best. From the first race and the backing he'll have I think Jorge will be placed higher in the championship. As for getting the best out of what he has I'll have to go with JT.

What he achieved on that crappy underpowered, undeveloped Honda was amazing IMO. I can't wait to see him get acclimatised and start pushing at the front of the pack. I still think he will be the #1 rookie by years end.

To be honest I thought Lorenzo would be good but he's amazed me with his consistency and pace from day 1.

Dovi has also been superb and has totally out performed all the other satellite Honda riders.

I certainly didn't expect to be tipping Lorenzo for the title at the start of the year.
