View Full Version : [CIR] Rally del Ciocco 2008

Next weekend starts the best (probably) Championship in Europe.

Let's see the gap between conventional Gr N cars and S2000, last year Andreucci made some impressive results with Lancer EVO IX.

Longhi will use N12B version of impreza... maybe N14 is having some problems.. I suppose Aghini will use the N12B version too... and

Travaglia and Navarra are back to CIR with Punto S2000... but for me the man to beat in 2008 will be Luca Rossetti!

I think the best championship in Europe is rather the TRA(Trofeo Rally Asfalto)still from Italy :D

Tom: By competition? Definitely not.

I'm looking forward to rally del Ciocco as well.

By competition and drivers,as Mirek said , definitely not.
Look at how Silva and Re did at rally Como.If the real CIR competition were there, they would struggle to be in the top 10 in my opinion.

I think that this season ,without Basso around, could easily be Rossettis year.Only Andreucci ,Travaglia and maybe Cantamessa could attack him

Alright in fact I was thinking about the cars, not really the battle ;)

Trofeo Rally Asfalto the best championship? Maybe for old gentleman drivers who don't know what to do with their money! ;)

I agree with you guys. The real competition is in Campionato Italiano Rally. However, after looking at the entry list I see that some famous names are missing. Where are Dallavilla, Sottile, Cunico, Gamba, Ratiglia, Caldani...

Don't forget Navarra!!!

I would love to attend one of these rallys, cause the level is so high...

7th March 2008, 10:55
Some defections in 2wd: Ciuffi (Swift s1600) and Bizzarri (Clio R3) wont start.
As Madeira-Rally wrote Longhi and Aghini will use n12 version due to problems to new cars, now its official.
There is a lot of snow in special stages, and weather forecast predict other snow in these two days.

According to Claudio, problem for Travaglia on the SSS yesterday was rather due to set-up of the car for that kind of stage

Brief summary: Subaru Aimont Racing noticed some problems in the ECU of N14 model, so they decided to run in Ciocco with old model. Now Subaru has to solve problems at ECU, and Aimont is planning some tests in the next weeks before next CIR appointment (rally di San Marino). The press release says also that only Longhi is registered in Italian Championship so Aghini is not going to score points. Aghini will run in italian gravel championship .

Good morning!
Paolo Andreucci is doing a disappointing results until now. I think this rally is running very close of his home...
The drivers have found very slippery conditions on the road this morning.

Tom206wrc

Great battle between Longhi(unexpected) and Rossetti :bounce:

Perico is also a disappointment(I expected him more cloth to the top 3)... :(

He won the rally last year, so I expected much from him too.

Great battle between Longhi and Rossetti for the lead! The 'old' Subaru's are going well.

Confirmation from a rally marshall before the press conference(held at 2.30pm gmt+1), a lady spectating the rally was deadly hit by the Subaru of Andrea Aghini going off road in SS5... ;( ;(

There are other rumours the lady was from the officials of the rally(marshall ??)and crossed the road when Aghini was coming full speed on stage, inevitably hitting her...

Conferenza stampa terminata.

If anyone can speak Italian, I think here are some more details. I tried it with babelfish and it also found the word dog, but it was not clear enough...

Nobody deserves this, it's stupid, why do these things have to happen... :(

Her name was Suzanna. She lived at Casa del Regolo, where the crash took place. The dog had run away, she didn't purposely have it at the course, as her house is metres from the road. Suzanna was a guide at the Grotta del Vento where we worked together 5 years ago, and she was a wonderful mentor to me. She was also a neighbour and family friend. She leaves behind her husband, son and daughter. She was a hard-working woman, always smiling and so ready to help anyone.
She will be very sadly missed.

If you really feel sorry for family and friends, don't put happy smileys in other threads just a few hours after you wrote this.
Lack of respect from you!!
