Well, just a quick opener to say that the League will be back running this year and hope that as many as possible of you are up for playing :D

For those that were in it last year, everything's basically gonna be the same, I thought the format was a success.

For those that weren't - well it's a price-based thing, you pick seven riders to a budget - with at least one from each of MotoGP, 250s, 125s, World Superbikes and World Supersport, but the final make-up of your team is up to you. There are couple of transfer points to make some changes so things can alter quite a bit as we go through the year.

The thread from last year is here:
http://archive.motorsportforums.com/vb2/showthread.php?threadid=117701
And you can also click the link in my sig for the rules and regs.

Last year's standings looked like this:

...to give you all a quick reminder! :)

I'll post some more stuff as soon as the prices for this year are done - the WSB season starts on Feb 22nd so things will be rolling in the next few weeks. I'm currently working on the MotoGP, 250 and 125 prices but am waiting on the WSB/WSS full entry lists for a bit longer before posting any prices.

Anyway, get thinking about your teams and hope you fancy playing! Any questions, give me a shout.

Hey Pat, yeah I'll be back, I've already got a good idea of how my team will look, I just need to wait and see if I can afford them. :p :

Rules

Season start and deadlines

World SBK begins on Sat Feb 24th at Losail. Complete teams (I.e inc your MotoGP riders) should be submitted by Feb 21st to score points for that round.
If submitted later they will still score but only from that point onwards and not for the missed rounds.

MotoGP begins on Saturday March 10th, also at Losail.

Teams

Pick 7 riders with at least one from each category (125, 250, MotoGP, World SBK and World Supersport).

You are free to distribute the spare two riders as you wish between those categories.
For instance, you could have three WSB riders and one each from the other categories. Or two MotoGP and 250, and one from each of the others.

The total value of your team (sum of the prices) must not exceed $10M

Prices are fixed from the start of the season and will remain constant throughout. Extra riders may be introduced as the season progresses.

Points

Points are scored exactly as in the real championships for riders - see motogp.com, worldsbk.com or crash.net to check up on them if in doubt.

Transfers

There are two transfer periods for you to change as many of your riders as you wish as long as the overall team value remains within budget.
The transfer periods are for both MotoGP and World SBK/WSS.
You may go back to riders you have picked before but dumped if you want.

Transfer period 1 is between May 20th(Le Mans MotoGP) and May 24th (Thursday before Catalunya MotoGP).
You may nominate transfers before then - as it's only a few days long - but they will take effect on May 25th for all classes and not before.

Transfer period 2 is between July 22nd (Laguna Seca MotoGP) and August 2th (Thursday before Brands Hatch WSB).
You may nominate transfers before then but they will take effect on August 3rd for all classes and not before.

Transfers can be done by PM or on the forum page. If done by PM to me ('patnicholls'), they will be acknowledged with a return PM.
This is for your reference.
There'll be a reminder about transfers nearer the time.

Rider Replacements rules

You score points for your chosen rider but NOT any replacements if that rider is replaced (injury, poor form, etc).
If your rider moves to a different team he continues to score points for you. If he moves class he will not.

Updates and rule changes

Updates will be done by the Tuesday following a racing weekend if possible and available on the forum.
If there are any problems get in touch and I can rectify them. All the scores are done on a spreadsheet so it's easy to check.
If any rules are unclear we'll discuss them on the forum.

Cheers, have fun!

I'm going to be bold and be the first one to post my team for 2007. It was really tough coming up with something satisfactory. I have to say Pat, great job at coming up with the prices. You've really made it impossible to pick sure things in more than perhaps one or two classes. I've had to pick some long shots just to stay in budget.

And now I give to you, team FattyR !!!

The pricing looks great Pat. I think the extra weighting towards the superbikes is spot on, better than last year. Gonna have to get my thinking cap on and come up with a strong team. I reckon this year will be even better at producing a close competition with more varied teams. Hopefully I can go one better than last year. Good luck all.

OK, after quite a successful season 2006 Team Hurricane are ready for the upcoming 2007 racing season. Troy Bayliss, Kevin Curtain and Angel Rodriguez have all moved on and we thank them for their contributions to our 2006 efforts.

With that said, Team Hurricane is very excited about the upcoming season and our new look team is expecting big things. Three new riders join our team after promising seasons with other squads and we feel they will continue to florish under our management. Pre-season testing is going well and we look forward to the season proper starting.

Corny, as explained in the rules earlier, just go through the list of riders and pick one rider from each class. You then have 2 extra riders to pick to form your team. Each rider in the list has a value and the total value of the team must not exceed $10M. Once you have picked your team, just give it a name! Good luck.

After a succesful second half of the season Randy Blighters are proud to announce they struck a lucrative sponsorship deal over the winter period. As part of the deal it was agreed that the team name should be changed and a rider line up hastily assembled. Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to present to you the all new Dog And Duck Pub Racing Team:

Funny you say that, when I checked the final results from last year, she finished 2 places behind me and I had about 3 rounds head start. She picked Vale and Mr Bean (Barros), as she knows them, though I did help her by telling her who was a chance and who was not looking strong etc. If she beats me, I will never live it down.

Looking good so far, we have 15 teams and there's definitely at least three more to come (mine, Ninja's, ...and my mum's [she was 6th last year]). We had 22 last year, hope to beat that this time so hoping for a few more...

Deadline day is Feb 22nd.

More than two weeks to go, plenty of time for people to still get a team in before the first round.

Am just deliberating whether to put mine up now or hold out for a bit :)
(it's hard to both do the prices fairly for a good competition and then pick your own team to try and find a potential advantage somewhere, you know!)

Didn't a lot of the teams last year join after the season started? That might happen again.

Maybe "my mom" should also have a team ;)

I tried to get my brother to join but he sill hasn't bothered, perhaps I'll give him a bit of hassel.

Incidentally the Dog And Duck Pub Racing Team would like to announce that in light of a bigger budget last seasons Randy Blighter logo'd coffee machine has been thrown out and been replaced with a fancy espresso/cappucino/standard filter coffee machine. It's very trendy and due to high running costs there will be a 2 pence charge for anyone using it ;)

i am the brother of ninja master and i will be entering a team in the competition this year. just need to check the books to see how much money i have before i write up the contracts and sign the riders. as my brother finished equal first this year i feel there is a lot of pressure on me to perform up to his standards. but after living with him for so many years that shouldnt be too hard!! looking forward to an enjoyable year with you all.

Cheers all for the teams, this season is gonna be clooooooooooose...we've got 18 so far, with at least three more to come, and had 22 in total last year. A few more and we'll have more than last season...

Mine is on it's way very soon! :D

Deadline day is next Thursday...if they're posted on here before practice gets going at Qatar for WSB, they'll score.

And, in other news - the full scores spreadsheet will be available online this year every race. No fancy websites but I'll be uploading it to Google Spreadsheets and posting the link in this thread after every race so if you wanna follow the exact details, they'll all be there.

Keep the teams coming!

MCN are also running a League with MotoGP, WSB and BSB main classes, it's details are here:

http://mcn.fantasyleague.com/Index.aspx

Although its pricing seems a little...rubbish :D (how can a mid-pack WSB runner be half the price of a MotoGP one, when the WSB season has eight more races and they both use the same points system?). But you can win money in it...

Personally - and this is a totally unbiased opinion obviously - mine's much better... :p

PRESS RELEASE - Sat 17.02.2007

FLEDGLING motorcycle manufacturer, Kawazuma Motorcycles, have announced a radical plan to launch their new range of sports motorcycles - go racing! And they plan on doing it in a very big way, with efforts to cover all three Grand Prix categories and also World Superbike and Supersport. To do this, Kawazuma have hired long lost cousin of Rob Muzzy, Clint Muzzy to oversee the racing program. "It is going to be a very big challenge, but I'm pretty confident that we will be quite competitive. We aren't planning on doing this half-assed!" says Muzzy. "We have a great sponsor in Jack Daniels behind us who have enabled us to get some very good riders to push for success. The riders contracts are very much performance orientated and allow the riders to earn a good deal of coin if they perform. They know full well though, that they are out if they suck!" he added. Kawazuma have adopted the mentality of 'win on Sunday, sell on Monday' and are focused on success. And with the following rider lineup, they have every chance of a profitable year.

Jack Daniels Kawazuma Racing Team

MotoGP
Alex Barros 1

250cc GP
Marcos Simoncelli 1

125cc GP
Sandro Cortese 0.5

World Superbike
Troy Bayliss 3.5
Steve Martin 1.75
Regis Laconi 1.5

While we're at it, a press release from PN Corse:

"PN Corse have confirmed their rider lineup following an intense off-season as they bid to retain their co-title win from the inaugural campaign. The rider selection was tricky, but the lineup has been set down for some time now. The team also wanted to build the suspense and see what some of it's rivals - particularly those with a green bike - were up to before announcing to the press. We feel we have a good blend of experience with Alex Barros, youth with Nico Terol, the calm, methodical approach of team favourite Hiroshi Aoyama and Michel Fabrizio and Massimo Roccolli specialising in raw talent and aggression on track. James Toseland and Thomas Luthi have also won World Championships in the past. We are aiming to win the team title outright this year."

The lineup is:

MotoGP
Alex Barros 1

250cc GP
Hiroshi Aoyama 1.75
Thomas Luthi 0.75

125cc GP
Nico Terol 0.75

World Superbike
James Toseland 3
Michel Fabrizio 1.75

You score points for your chosen rider but NOT any replacements if that rider is replaced (injury, poor form, etc).

If your rider moves to a different team he continues to score points for you.

well if the rider is replaced/removed ,can't the people who have the rider in the team have a chance to replace that rider "only" with a different rider with an equal or lesser value....

you can have a penalty that only 3/4th of the points that the replacement rider scores are counted, just a thought

Afraid it's gonna stay as it is - basically as it is, I only need 10 mins each weekend to update the results (bung the riders' race points in to my spreadsheet, and everyone's teams automatically sort themselves out). Adding stuff like 3/4 of riders' points for a replacement and things makes it all manual (I have to look at people's teams individually), which reaaaaaly slows things up, which I don't fancy with 20-odd teams if a few have problems. Especially as I may be running the MotoGP Pickems this year too - not sure but it's possible.

So it'll stay as it is.

Pick riders who just don't crash! :p

I'd call my team about 50/50 with regard to performance vs consistency. I got lucky with Lanzi at Qatar; and PI should suit him well - now I need Casey to stay on the bike for MotoGP round 1, and for Vermeulen to also do reasonably well.

Josh Brookes might come to the party for me this weekend at PI as well.

I may have missed this bit - does the riders price have anything to do with the points? i.e. is there a sliding points scale based on rider cost? I'm guessing not, in the interests of allowing Pat to have some free time during the season : )

OK Corny, all you have to do is pick 7 riders. Pick at least 1 from the following disciplines.
Motogp, 250's,125's, WSBK and WSS. This gives you five riders, then, you have 2 extra picks, so you could pick an extra Motogp rider, or a WSBK rider etc. You have 10 million to spend, so don't go over the limit. Check out the forum fantasy thread, and post your team there. Pat will do the rest. The hardest part is making up a catchy name for your team. You will find the price list for the riders in the 1st page of the forum fantasy thread, so choose wisely. Good luck mate.

Cheers for pointing it out - it doesn't affect anything as no-one's got Riba anyway.

No, I'm afraid the rules don't say that as we've been over when it was queried earlier. Mainly because the League would then become an administrative nightmare and would take a couple of hours per round to do the points, instead of ten minutes...

There's a month's gap til Donington anyway so Muggas or any other injuries from WSB should be sorted by then.

Yes, there are two transfer points during the season (one at the end of May, one in August) where you can change things.

Sorry for any confusion!

Team NoBlouse Racing is very pleased with its signing of star new recruit Casey Stoner. The young gun certainly appears to have developed his racecraft during the off season, and is shaping up as a firm title favourite. Casey seems to be able to stick with Bridgestone, now we just need to ensure that our grenade of a motor can hang together for the rest of the season.

Chris Vermuluen's weekend was not so successful, but did reward the team with some solid 'come from behind late in the season' points. The bike will continue to be developed (in a coup for the team, John Hopkins has been contracted to kick it a few times each round) and we are confident that there is more to come from the likeable young rider from Yandina. In fact, we are shipping a container of famous Yandina ginger products to him this weekend, to assist in his pre-Jerez preparations.

A search and rescue team has been dispatched to locate Alvaro Bautista (250s), it is widely assumed that the Spaniard skipped Qatar early on raceday after getting a better offer to test the new NoBlouse Racing Demon pit scooter during the first few laps of the 250 race, then crashing it and fleeing to avoid the ire of NoBlouse team principal Humperdink Blofart.

Pablo Nieto (125s) ran a steady race to provide some useful team points, and was rewarded with Bautista's umbrella girl after the event - the idea being to encourage consistent results with the odd carrot from the 250 program.

It is very close, leopard went from 11th to second overall from Jerez, for instance. Mach Speed Racing have a bit of a lead but then again, so did Team Hurricane last year and they got caught. Things do change quite a bit, and then there's the May transfer period of course!

The tricky bit is balancing out the GPs against the Superbikes, there are some teams heavily weighted one way or the other which produces some interesting scores.

Press release, Donington Park - PN Corse

PN Corse had another up-and-down weekend at one of their home races at Donington Park this weekend.

Following some unfortunate injuries to rival riders - to whom the team all wishes a speedy recovery - it was hoped that the squad could gain some ground on the leaders, and also show that PN Corse is not just a one-man team as has been suggested by rivals.

James Toseland did his bit in Race 1 with another superb win, his first on home soil leaving his watching manager cheering on the sidelines. Unfortunately young charger Michel Fabrizio had another mediocre race, coming home outside the top 10 for only a few points, something that team staff were seen shaking their heads about.

In Supersport with three leading riders out through injury it was a chance for Massimo Roccoli to pick up a good result too, he managed 8th which was an improvement after a no-score in Australia but still a little disappointing.

Race two for the Superbikes was a double disappointment - Fabrizio was again well back and star rider Toseland suffered a bike failure while leading. All team members were said to be distraught as up until that point, things were looking good for PN Corse to take a place in the top 5 overall.

Following the event, the team has sat all riders bar Toseland down and told them to improve their performances, with contract renewal time coming up in a few events time.

Also, we're approaching Transfer Time...

Before Silverstone WSB (May 25th) you can nominate a new team if you want. Prices are rules governing team selection are the same as before - so all the prices are as on the first page of the thread (and on the spreadsheet). But it's your chance to move up if your team isn't going so well. :p

You can post or PM any teams to me before May 25th when Silverstone WSB gets on track. There is Le Mans MotoGP next week - the changes take effect after Le Mans and before Silverstone regardless of when you post the new team.

Any questions give me a shout.

Cheers,

Cheers Pat, I was going to do the calcs myself last week on your behalf but I got tied up with work (and toddlers when at home : )

Team NoBlouse Racing press release:

"NoBlouse are not particularly saddened to announce the imminent departure of Lorenzo Lanzi from our otherwise fairly stellar line-up. The separation is a mutual one, with Lorenzo keen to further his recent interest in grasstrack racing.

"However, we are most excited to welcome Noriyuki Haga to the fold. Nori brings a wealth of experience to our team, and let's face it in this day and age you can't go wrong with a Japanese national speaking English with an Italian accent.

"Chris Vermeulen is also leaving the team; although NoBlouse are keen to foster Australian talent, there's just no room for Chris in a successful racing team when John Hopkins is available (and his girlfriend is a hottie too, we need a bit more glamour since Stoner got married and shooed all the babes away).

"In order to concentrate on protecting our positions in the larger capacity classes, NoBlouse regrettably must wind down our 125cc program. We thank Pablo Nieto for his efforts and wish him every success in his future endeavours not associated with trying to beat Team NoBlouse riders."

In a shock move Ant West and Mach Speed have come to a mutual decision to part company.

Mach Speed Manager, Mach24 is quoted below from an interview on his yacht off Monaco on return from Monza:

"Whilst Ant has riden his heart out for this team it appears his equipment and his future are both uncertain"

"With this in mind I have hired Julian Simon for the remainder of 2007"

"I wish Ant the best of fortunes in the future, perhaps a few seasons in WSS could be just the tip"

Mach24 departed the interview early via helicopter to meet with love interest Elle McPherson in the south of Spain.

Aha, thought it seemed a bit too easy. Here's the new version:

"Team NoBlouse Racing"

MotoGP - 21 John Hopkins Rizla Suzuki $1.0m
MotoGP - 27 Casey Stoner Marlboro Ducati $1.5m

250cc - 19 Alvaro Bautista Aspar Aprilia $1.5m

Brave call on Vermeulen vs. Hopkins there, Kiwigav : )

I've had to drop all my Aussies bar Stoner, not happy about that - but a Smith and Wesson beats four aces ; )
Damn Phantom, that's almost the exact team I was gonna pick! Great minds think alike I guess. ;) Oh well, guess I'll have to improve on that lineup then. :)

JACK DANIELS KAWAZUMA RACING TEAM PRESS RELEASE 17/05/2007

2007 has not been particularly kind to reigning joint-champion JD Kawazuma Racing (formerly Team Delusional) with injury and mechanical problems hampering results considerably. Due to this lack of competitiveness, with the insistance of title sponsor Jack Daniels, significant personnel changes are in store. We would sincerely like to thank Alex Barros, Troy Bayliss, Steve Martin and Regis Laconi for their efforts so far this year and to wish them well for the rest of the year. For Marco Simoncelli, it's time to grow a brain and stop crashing and don't let the door hit you on the way out!

We would now like to welcome Casey Stoner, Jorge Lorenzo, Thomas Luthi, Lucas Pesek and Noriyuki Haga to the JD Kawazuma 'family' along with incumbents Sandro Cortese and Fabien "I wish I had mirrors" Foret to attempt a return to form and surge back to the pointy end of the field where we believe we belong.

Lucas Pesek $1.5mil
Sandro Cortese $0.5mil

Press Release:

Team AIA Jackal Corse has officially announced today that riders Eugene Laverty and Kevin Curtain will be released and replaced by riders Julian Simon and Kenan Sofuoglu.

Laverty's lack of results up to this point in the season have been less than inspiring for the team and have lead to a 'mutual' seperation between the two parties.

Kev Curtain on the other hand has suffered a range of mis-fortune and due to his bad luck and extended injury, causing uncertain time on the sidelines, the team has decided to release him to allow for his full recouperation.

Julian and Kenan make for exciting additions to the team and hope to give team AIA the boost up the rankings they so desperately need from the 250 and WSS categories.

TEAM SLIGHT ADVANTAGE PRESS RELEASE
http://www.tu-darmstadt.de/hrz/netz/kredel/www2/sticker.gif

Team Slight Advantage shocked the racing world this morning after releasing all but two of their riders. After a strong start to the season Team Slight Advantage has fallen off the pace over the last few weeks. This is the main reason for the team re-structure, according to team boss Lanky Wes.

The team is saying goodbye to Roberto Locatelli, Yuki Takahashi, Joan Olive, Yoann Tiberio and Josh Brooks.
“It is with some sadness that we are parting ways with these riders. We have talked at length with each individual rider and are parting on mutual agreement that this is best for both team and rider. We wish them all the very best (except for Takahashi, he has been just useless) and hope the future is bright for them.”

John Hopkins and James Toseland have kept their positions within the team and are both excited about the new injection of talent into the team.

Joining these two will be current MotoGP championship leader Casey Stoner, young 250cc talents Alvaro Bautista and Thomas Luthi, 125cc leader Lukas Pesek and World Supersport ace Fabien Foret.

Team FattyR Announces New Line Up

Despite an exciting start to the 07 season team FattyR are making large changes to out rider line up following the Le Man's GP. The only rider to retain his seat is John Hopkins. Team FattyR management would like to thank most importantly Max Biaggi and Troy Bayliss for their efforts so far and want them to understand that while we think they are great riders and will no doubt bring good results in coming races our decision to let them go is purely strategic and we wish them best of luck.

Easy to decide who was going -
Colin Edwards gets the bullet. He only seems to ride well these days when contract renewal time comes round.
Bye bye Mattia Passini - had high hopes for him after last year but his bikes been a disaster for mechanical dnf's.
Fonsi Nieto is out - it was too much to hope that Kawasaki would have sorted the ZX10R for 07
Chris Jones - struggling to make up for his wasted years on the Foggy bike

Well here's my new team -

Casey Stoner - 1.5m

Jorge Lorenzo 2m
Alvaro Bautista 1.5m

It's a bit quiet on the banter front this year in the League, it's got really competitive and everyone's gone quiet! :p

-----------------------------------------

As for PN Corse, we took a few risks in the first section, none of which paid off (Fabrizio - although I'm glad I picked him over Martin who I'd pencilled in, Roccoli, Nico Terol [aaargh]) and we basically ended up looking like a one-man team with JT getting all the points. Hiroshi Aoyama receives a second sacking [I got rid of him last year for tactical reasons; he's one of my fave riders] after a dismal opening, although I've replaced him with Alvaro who's been a big favourite since 2004.

For this second section, we've changed all riders bar JT and Tom Luthi, and have gone for broke in the 125s and 250s as well as a calculated gamble in Supersport with David Salom. We need a massive slice of luck to get back in the title hunt to be honest. Our hopes have suffered a big blow with the recent misfortune for Raffaele de Rosa - he was running 5th into the last corner at Mugello but was taken out by an errant Pesek, and then broke down while in the top bunch at Catalunya.

We believe second place may be possible, but feel the title is rather out of reach at present.

Rider Replacements rules

You score points for your chosen rider but NOT any replacements if that rider is replaced (injury, poor form, etc).
If your rider moves to a different team he continues to score points for you. If he moves class he will not.

That's from the first page of the thread and on the rules section of the spreadsheet.

So, Westy fans, I'm afraid you're out of luck in terms of getting any points or a replacement until transfer period 2 next month.

(basically, putting replacements in would mean I would be doing everyone's points manually, rider-by-rider, which would take ages. As it is, I put the race results into the spreadsheet and all the team points scores are done automatically through the spreadsheet wizardry, so the whole thing only takes about 10 mins per round)

Hope that clears things up!

Anyway, barring a massive comeback from someone it's looking like this year's title is heading to Oz, with NoBlouse Racing nearly 100 points ahead. There's a massive fight on for second place but the winner's trophy is - at present - only heading one way.

Sadly for me (and to a lesser extent, Pat :D ) the title defence is in tatters, after a horror run of DNF's and team problems. With high hopes after the trade period, morale is struggling with the JD Kawazuma Racing Team wallowing in a tight mid-pack battle and out of title contention a massive 181 points off the pace.

Props to Team Blurnsballers with their leap to second place after starting the season late and being hit with a whopping 177 point late deduction that would otherwise see them leading. With still a whole half a season left to go, NoBlouse Racing appear to have one hand on the trophy but then, this is motorsport and anything can happen.

PN Corse took a few gambles that didn't pay off, or simply has had the wrong people at the wrong time. Went for David Salom in WSS after his excellent first part, and he's not scored a point since! Likewise Raffaele de Rosa - he had two fourth places early on, but his luck has run out now (he also accidentally torpedoed the luckless Mattia Pasini at Sachsenring). I picked Hiroshi early on in 250s, then sacked him in favour of Alvaro - it would have been better the other way round of course!

Disastrous co-title defence for us really, if it wasn't for JT I'd be absolutely nowhere...

It is looking like Blurnsballers to take the title fight to noBlouse Racing - they're closing in slightly now...

Yeah, now that my computer is all sorted it's only a 10-minute job (tops) to get it done and uploaded. It takes a bit longer after transfer time, but that makes things quicker at each round.

Bit of a lame 2nd part for PN Corse, any title hopes are now long gone unfortunately. We're still a one-rider team with JT, no-one else has done anything...I'm behind my mum (Fest Racing) now, who had the best 2nd part of the season of anyone.

Dammit, I knew I shoulda turned left at Albuquerque... or at least kept Chris the V in the squad. Still, only lost 5 points to Blurnsballers, consolidation is the name of the game now... :s pin:

I missed the first corner - my 11 month old son grabbed the Foxtel remote control just before the race started! and instead of a field of MotoGP bikes thundering into Turn 1, I got Hugh Jackman spruiking Foxtel iQ on the Help channel :o Also managed to miss any replays of it, so still don't know exactly what happened to my man, but seeing as he took a competitor out at the same time I'm prepared to let this one slide

Press Release:

Team AIA Jackal Corse has today announced that they will increase their MotoGP team to a three bike outfit, calling on the services of Gold Coast rider Ant West. West has been promoted from the 250cc category in order to bolster the allready extremely strong lineup of Casey Stoner and Chris Vermeulen. Further to this change, young Austrian 125cc rider Michael Ranseder has been 'let go into the wilderness' so to speak, taking his place will be promising young German rider Sandro Cortese.

"We are extremely happy to give Ant West the shot he deserves in the premier class. It will be a steep learning curve jumping in the deep end with the big boys, but we know he will give 100% and score some decent points. Furthermore, we are delighted to welcome Sandro Cortese to the team, we were tossing up between he and Ranseder at the start of the year and with Michael's current relative lack of results, we feel it neccesary to give Sandro the opportunity that he has prooven he deserves."

"The scope of a potential realignment of Team noBlouse Racing's resources has required a rigorous and robust reassessment of our core competencies, visions and values. Leveraging our results has generated a raft of financial and strategic options, which underpin and overarche the reinvention of our racing mission statement … and a re-evaluation of our methodologies has led to a decision to keep our existing team, going forward."

Subsequent media release from Team noBlouse Racing principle, Mr Phantom:

"We've fired the PR Officer. Go to it boys, I don't care what it takes, or who you have to block during qualifying, just keep those bloody Blurnsballers behind you - capische?"

Sadly due to being a pub based team the Dog and Duck PRT have spent the majority of the season hungover. As all out success seems impossible the lads have decided to keep partying and see where it takes them.

Due to the good morale of the team Dog and Duck PRT will not take advantage of any transfer windows, although they did replace the coffee machine of last years Randy Blighters with a make shift bar that serves lager and 3 different types of liquor. Here's to the rest of the season, Drink Up!!

Just a thought, but when you have these windows, how difficult would it be to change the values of the riders you wish to sign. Mainly Casey Stoner, anyway you can uprate his value? Seems crazy he's still at $1.5m, you should still have him in your team at the original value if you picked him first off, but if you wish to jump on the bandwagon his new value should be up with Rossi or higher!
Too hard to do? Even if you had him as a "new" rider, "Stoner 2" say? Anyone else thought about this?

I'll be having a think about any possible changes at the end of the year, but most likely keeping it as it is (I think having a bit for Manufacturers was suggested last year).

Re: changing rider prices, it's a doubled-edged sword. Keeping them the same does create the problem of a lot of similar teams popping up at the transfer windows - Casey & Suzukis for instance this year. However putting them up for people who want to get those riders only means the League becomes less competitive as you go on - guys who are behind have to pay more just to have the same as the teams that have already got the good guys, so won't catch up barring a miracle. Which is bad as you want to keep it close so people are interested.

I've done an F1 League in the past where you all the prices changed at each window and you had to change if your team went over budget by the repricing - it was more of a challenge but very unpopular and using the net sometimes means you can't get hold of people to get a new team off them.

So...I think it will stay as it is for next year. I just have to predict things a little better - although mostly seem to be doing alright :)
