Can I suggest that the vote is carried out by PM to JJ which will allow a pseudo "secret ballot".

Can't this forum software do a Poll?
Most other forums that run vBulletin do it.

Rob.

Thanks for volunteering me to receive loads of PMs Rob. I don't have the time to deal with them individually. :(

Please use the poll, no PMs will be accepted.

Yes the forum does have a poll, but for some reason you have to post the initial message before you can add the poll.

I have set it up so that votes are done in secret for those of a nervous disposition.

Where is the 'none of the above' option?

(and don't say "Bernard" there's enough dogs in racing already :) )

Sorry guys. I seem to be having some technical difficulties with this poll.

I am going to suspend voting until tomorrow, yes I will extend the deadline.

Cheers

Julian

PS. I'll add a none of the above for those who want to register that vote!

Obviously there are some Blackadder II fans out there! 5 votes for Bernard indeed!

Vote for Bernard! Vote for Bernard!

It will be a category that will be independent of whatever we need to call the series for media purposes! Honest!

We could always call it 107...

Just to let people know that in line with most electoral systems the names of who voted will be passed on to JJ, so he can make sure no double voting has occured. But he will not be given any details of who voted for who.

 Do you mean the literal use of USA?

If so, it is because the ASCARS are USA style stockcars and not the UK short track version that the uninitiated may think they are.

If you had a problem with the use of USA, you should have mentioned it in the initial 'Forum Name Change' thread.

Exactly - when folks in the UK hear the phrase "stock cars" they immediately think of Bangers at Arena Essex... :s

When I said to someone that I was going to race a Stockcar, they thought I was going to race some sort of scrap on wheels at Brafield Stadium.

When I explained the "American" type of Stockcar, they said - why didn't you say NASCAR. I said I didn't want the suits knocking on the door!

Right now, they're brushing up on their "shouting in American at French people" I guess.

Three more votes and Bernard will be in second place!!!!
Nursey has never been so popular.

Not since she said "you don't want to be having a bright idea, you're foot will fall off".
You see, her cousin Cedric had a bright idea, his foot fell off.
His bright idea was to trim his toe nails with a scythe.

Well, option 4 is the winner.

I have put in a request for the forum name to be changed to -

VSR V8 Trophy & Pickup Trucks
US Style Stockcar Racing in the UK & Europe

Cheers

And so it be called - even though it's still wrong, as it can't be "US Style Stockcar Racing" as in the US they run on OVALS (and Pickups ain't Stockcars before anyone starts :) )
