I Hope That The Press Conference Quality Is Not A Sign Of Things To Come! Did Tony George Use A Local Junior High School A-V Club For The Production Staff? The Audio Was Terrible And Camera Work And Production Was Just Awful. This Was An Important Event And It Did Not Appear That Anyone Put Any Effort Or Degree Of Professionalism Into It---come on it should be better!

I thought it was great. More importantly, there was a room full of press people taking notes and asking questions. It was on live on SpeedTV & ESPN News. It was more press than AOWR has gotten in years.
IMO it's important to look forward with a positive attitude. Pissing all over every little detail only makes someone come off as a sore loser. Let's see what these guys can do before we start to knock it.

No Forsythe, no Tracy. If PT isn't in the series, I guess I'll watch MLS instead.

When is Forsythe at anything? Admittedly if there was one thing to show up at it would be this; maybe he was present but not addressed in the intros or shown by the cameras.
And TG said there was 100% attendance at the info session or something to that effect.

^fair enough. The PC was decent for the most part, occasional audio breakups watching online but that was the extent of the damage.

They keep saying 100% of the CC teams are represented, so I'm assuming that Mickelwright has been there for the team?

TG personally mentioned PT during the conference as someone he'll like to see racing Indycars.

No Forsythe people, but Doornbos WAS there. That's very encouraging news.
Crappy production or not, that was the coolest press conference I've seen in years.
I'M FREAKING GIDDY ABOUT THIS, WOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The bigger question is: Can you have both boobs and cleavage??? If so, I'm all for it :)

not just doornbos, pagenaud was there too and he was rumoured off to the Le Mans Series. Bruno had flown in from South Africa and Tags and Servia were there so I assume they'll be KV's two drivers.

They also made of point of saying Stoddart & Wiggins were there, along with Dale Coyne.

Yep, he was the first driver I noticed. He was on the center standing next to Marco Andretti.

I saw nothing of that sort! Are you sure it was Danica? Danica is th one in the stroller, the one throwing a tantrum and kicking dirt...

At least she wasn't seen in a wrestlers outfit (or acting like she is in the WWF).

Now we know the motivation behind all of this. The 100th anniversary of the Indy 500 is just around the corner. Maybe they'll get smart and allow chassis and engine alternatives and look more like CART was. They kept referring to the old days but before the split. That must be when had Reynard, Swift and Lola for chassis. Honda, Ford, Mercedes and Toyota engines. Who wants to wait until 2010?

Thats the 18 minute edited version. I was watching live, till I had to go to a meeting. It had gone on for almost 30 minutes when I had to drop off and they were fielding questions from the reporters in the room. Anyone have the WHOLE thing???

Did it took more than that? Tony George is too boring to listen to.
I'd like to hear their response to the media if someone out there got the whole coverage.

Did you guys see Milka Duno? She looks so fine. Way better than Danica, Katherin and Sarah put together. She's an LA 10 for sure. Plastic or natural, who cares! At least it wasn't me who paid for those....LOL!

I saw it on the ESPN NEWS Feed. Which started a little before the speed feed. You'll see it later ... it's real ... I mean fake ... whatever.

Are you sure you didn't mix her up with Milka Duno? Because she is hot where Danica is not.

I missed the start and caught up with the conference about 30 mins in, thanks to the player refusing to work on Firefox (AAARRGHHH!). I watched the beginning on the Indycar site later.
Anyhow, a few things I noticed...
KK's funny warning about going out in Miami with Jimmy Vasser... LOL! :D
Did anyone spot how when a few tough questions were asked and TG looked around to KK for an answer, KK just looked the other way... happened at least four times that I spotted.
TG is definitely from the G-Dubya school of public speaking.... rambling on, way after he's answered the question, not quite knowing when to stop, and the excellent Bush-esque line "we need to participate....errr...in order to errrr...facilitate...errr"... class!!! :D

You took the words right out of my mouth. I saw TG the other night on Wind Tunnel and I was completely shocked by his oral demeanor. I figured he was just a little overwhelmed/exhausted from the discussions. After viewing yesterday's press conference, I realize that that is just the way he speaks. He certainly belongs to the G-Dubya school of public speaking.

My feelings about "...king George" (the Speedway Indiana one) are well published here. But I would never, in a million years, dump him into the "dubya" group. "...king George" is not the best of speakers, there is no doubt about that, but he is in a class heads above "dubya".

Just a few last thoughts on the press conference. I, like many AOWR fans have waited for this day for over a decade. The problem I had with the conference was the apparent lack of excitement from both TG and KK. The press and drivers were present creating a definite sense of excitement and unity. TG's non-chalant demeanor during the conference almost convinces one that he could careless. Of course, that is far from the truth because the merger was necessary for both sides to survive.
I guess what I am trying to say is that I expected more excitement from the two main principals on this historic day. I am sure that I will be criticized for my commentary, but oh well.
I am glad that the merger has occurred and ready to be at the Indy 500 next year!
