Yes the fat lady is singing.

With apologies to Willie Nelson and dandy Don Meredith...

Turn out the lights
The party's over
They say that
All good things must end
Call it tonight
The party's over
And tomorrow starts
The same old thing again
But the crazy crazy party
Never seen so many people
Laughing dancing
Look at you you're having fun
But look at me
I'm almost cryin'
That don't keep her love from dyin'
Misery cause for me the party's over
Turn out the lights...
Once I had a love undyin'
I didn't keep it but I tried
Life for me was just one party
And then another
I broke her heart so many times
I had to have my parting wife
I had to have my party
Why broke her heart so many times
But one day she said
Sweetheart the party's over
Turn out the lights...

It's a beautiful song, and it's about time!

You know, it's interesting to think that with the IRL car count at 16, CCWS might have held out a little longer, to gain some more consessions. Like making the Panoz DP-01 the next car for the new series. Ah, well...

I don't think there was enough time to hold out. If you look at how much it'll cost TG to fund the cars and TEAM payments for the CCWS teams who move over, it'd have been cheaper for him to fund an extra 2-3 cars to build up the grid. He's had to do that recently for the Indy 500 and it's not like he can't afford to do it. Obviously, it'll look better for him to have new teams in there instead of nearly half the grid made up of Vision cars.

Well the fat lady may have sung but what are we left with...The good news is we can sit back and just criticize one series now, TG may have won, sad part is we all paid the price.
