…At the finish of the final special stage everybody was waiting uneasily. The tenth, twelfth, twenty second had already registered and proceeded to a service park but the third one was still missing. Dousing those standing near the referees’ car with a cloud of sweetish racing exhaust cars arrived flying from special stages, registered and went with a roar to service vans area to be greeted by mechanics and few spectators…

Evgeniy Vertunov: "A crew is a single whole!".

Vertunov and Uspenskiy both started in Peno on new Subarus. It was -20 at friday night, and they both couldn't start their engines at Saturday morning in the parc ferme... Both drivers started the second day of the rally without results. Uspenskiy flied off from the road on SS5, and Vertunov gave his karnet after midday service. Some info and photos - soon.

The WRC"02 clip with their "In the End" song changed my life in 2002, so I couldn't miss the day and prepared some article to the event.
