Your Dream WRC Schedule
If you could decide your dream wrc schedule and venues, how would it look like ?
Lets use a 13 rally calendar, with 1 reserve venue.

3 winter rallies (Sweden, Norway and would love to see Finland in winter)
Portugal
New Zealand
Sardegna
Poland
Finland
Greece
Argentina
Australia
I don't like tarmac rallies as it's not so spectacular, but if I have to choose one it would be Germany
Wales GB
And as a reserve Turkey as it looked really spectacular last time.

I'd like to see the old corner-stone rallies on the calendar every year. These are IMO: Finland, Monte Carlo, Corsica, Wales, San Remo and, yes, the Safari. Other than that, there can be quite a lot of rotation.

Monte Carlo - Legend.
Sweden-Norway combined event - Long snow event.
Argentina - Long rough event.
Sardinia - Technical sand rally.
Germany - Special tarmac.
Poland - High speed gravel, the 2009 edition was very nice.
Czech Republic - Czech tarmac (the more slow techical one) would deserve a place in the WRC.
Finland - The Best.
New Zealand - Legend in the Southern hemisphere.
Corsica - Difficult tarmac.
Turkey - 2010 route was interesting. Good combination of slow technical rough roads and very high-speed flat out stuff.
Ireland - Dirty, bumpy tarmac. Like.
Wales - The season finale as it should be.Satakymppi, oikee yks --- rallisport.net - vauhtimedia

1. Monte-Carlo, the legend always comes first
2. Combined event Sweden/Norway, but would like organisers to move further north direction ostersund (s) or trondheim (n) to secure winter conditions
3. Safari, the battle of man and machine again nature
4. Portugal, although Algarve area has nice stages, love to go back to north and arganil area
5. catalunya: all asfalt stages from LLoret de Mar
6. Acropolis Rally, another legend, more to discover from magnificent gravel roads, always spectaculair
7. Finland, rollercoaster speeds on gravel,
8. Corsica, a bumpy asfalt rally, always tricky
9. RAC, not the combination of micky mouse stages, but the real thing, starting in Cardiff and finish up north in Scotland,
10. Australia, was twice in Perth (97,98) and love the timing, a lot of stages visited or new Zealand, perhaps alternate year to year
11. Sanremo, not the Sardinia-version but the one with 2 days of gravel in tuscany and then 2 days of asfalt in sanremo
12. a event on the american continent, argentina is popular, but would the US been have a contender, i'd go for the yankees
13. other asian event, china, hongkong- peking, himalaya,

For me Monte Carlo, Sweden, Portugal, Greece, Finland, Germany and GB are the must have of the calendar.
Besides those I would like Argentina, Italy (San Remo), Poland, Spain, France ( Corsica) and New Zealand.

Not a cheap calendar, but with all classics included (we are talking about dream calendar). The events in NZ and Australia are very espectacular and can attract asian manufacturers.
1-Montecarlo
2-Sweden/Norway
3-Portugal
4-Argentina
5-Safari
6-Acropolis
7-Corsica
8-New Zealand
9-Australia
10-Finland
11-San Remo (Tarmac in SanRemo + Gravel in Tuscany)
12-Catalunya-Costa Brava (Tarmac+Gravel, in the north)
13-Rally GB Wales/Scotland

I prefer a 5 day long 50+ stages RAC over the present Wales. And for tarmac, the Manx, with night stages, but that will never happen (for WRC). Either that or Ireland, which I like for its one off.

Quite traditional, but why not:
1. Monte
2. Sweden (in its current format)
3. Portugal (in the NORTH)
4. Argentina
5. France (Corsica, obviously)
6. Greece
7. New Zealand
8. Safari (possibly South Africa)
9. Finland
10.Germany (could alternate with Poland)
11.Italy (San Remo or Sardinia mixed surface)
12.Catalunya (current format)
13.Great Britain (RAC format)
For a possible 14th event (I don't think the calendar should be longer) USA or China.

I have not put everything in the best order but I would have these events:
1. Monte Carlo
2. Sweden (like this year with Norwegian stages)
3. Corsica
4. San Remo
5. Portugal (mixed surface event)
6. New Zealand
7. Mexico
8. Argentina
9. Finland
10. Germany
11. Spain
12. Greece*
13. UK
Reserve event: Ireland (tarmac) in case something happens to Greece.
Very tight schedule either way; it would be better if we could have 15/16 events as we did in the 2000s.http://www.flickr.com/photos/plan9rally/
