Yes you really have to watch out on the roads, Kenya was relaxing in comparison by day, though even the Greeks tend to have working lights when they drive in the dark

Is it possible to buy a local sim card at the airport? Without having an address there?

Around 1300 hrs. Then straight to Loutraki.

looks like Kefalari access point 4 on google maps around 500 meters towards the start of the stage...

Just arrived from the stages...saw thiva up to 12.5 km and Kinetta up to 18.3 kms...

report with pictures in a while...i am knackered after 704 kms.. Kinetta is a very wide and hell fast stage up to the first access point (4kms give or take) then it is going to be a survival race with some very rough parts...the tarmac part of the stage has some very spectacular points and probably i will visit them.

a HUGE thanx to jbmarcus21 and his life saving google maps...

expect a report in 2-3 hours from now.

sets for thiva and kinetta are the ones you are looking for.... i will add the direction of the stage later with sexy green arrows using my magic photoshop skills.

numbers on pics names indicate the km they are located from the start...

thiva was dry...kinetta was damp after the first 6 kms and upto the tarmac section which was dry.

no watersplashes.... but they maybe possible if we have heavy rains (which i do not wish for)

ok lets start

about thiva... i only went there to confirm the well known places

at 1.46 there is the well known jump

and at 12.2 (just 300 meters from access point 4 on the official guide) this place...the red lines indicate where the cars are going to lift sidewys...if they of course have the proper line...tourists might go wider and spoil the fun

ok now on kinetta... a bit narrow for the first 1 km then it widens and becomes very fast up until 3.8km where it tightens again and becomes very very rough at places

0.3 from the start there is a hairpin...the cars will not carry speed through coming at it because before it there are some tight corners.

at 2.1 there is enough space to park your cars if you decide to arrive early before the closure of the stage. there is also a very fast straight section if you are interested.

at 2.5 the cars will have enough speed and they arrive at a dip....they might jump or lift their suspension...it is a risky place because if they do not do anything of the above it is going to be boring...arrive at the place and make you judgement....i might be there as well so you can throw rocks at me if you are not satisfied, or if you are just a mean person.

at 3.8 we have the access point 1a (continue straight ahead to reach 1b) in the guide the cars come at high speed and turn left in a tight corner.

at 4.6 there is this hairpin...quite steep uphill

at 7.3 the cars come from a very narrow passage (barely a cars lenght) with a 50 cm drop created by the winter streams on the right side and then on this uphill hairpin...

at 8.2 there is a straight section with very soft from the rains terrain...t will create big ruts for sure... if you want to see cars struggling trough them be my guest...

at 9.9 the cars enter a wide road which i think it a winter stream...the ground is very soft...

at 11.1 the cars go on the left into an artificial...wide hairpin...nothing spectacular but you can see the cars for a long time and quite close from a safe spot;

at 11.8 there is a very steep downhill hairpin...i think it is going to be spectacular..i might be there... big rocks to throw at me are present but i think the place is guaranteed fun.

at 14.4 we enter the tarmac section...

at 15.4 there is a crest with parking space...it is an ok place...

at 17.6 the fun begins a steep downill hairpin followed by a fast lefthander...fun fun fun

at 17.7 is the place where i am going to be most likely 70% chances...i am a huge hater of hairpins but this looks good..it is downhill and very very nice.

ok now some remarks

some sexy arrows are not added to the pics...they will be soon enough
places are chosen according to my taste so you might not like them ects ects
the cars trip meter was used to caclulate the distances so add or subtract 100 meters and you will be fine
the above were written after consuming 2.5 glasses of delicious red wine (vintage 96)...the mileage is correct (i triple checked) but there might be some errors in vocabulary and grammar.

just to remember 500meters from the start of the stage no?

strange position because in MSB 2011 this point is notified from 15.06 kms...

Nice , good work, thanks and some question :
- how difficult to drive the stage before closure with deep road car (I mean risky for the car) - what I see on the pictures it's quite good quality
- 11,8 both the right and left a hairpin? which one is tighter? speedy section before the right one?
- 17,7 realy looks good unfortunatelly tarmac but with gravel tyre sure a fun - Am I right that before the right hairpin the breaking path not straight but slightly turning in?

At Kefalari be carefull with the car - the mid section quite hard for serial car/tyre, 3 years ago I was happy to come out from the stage without puncture and other damages.
