Amazing day from Mikkelsen! really good to see him on the top!

Perhaps but for the past 2 seasons (2015-2016) he hasn't shown great pace on Tarmac but this year, I'm glad it's working out for him. Well done to Malcolm Wilson for sticking his neck out for his drivers.

Mikkelsen beat Meeke (with same road position) by 55.4s and Breen by 59.5s. I was expecting him to be fastest of them based on previous experience and performance in germany but not by that much.

It's a combination of new codriver, experience, car developed for him, which gives him huge confidence boost. Tänak had been ok on tarmac, but never that good. Enough praise, still two days to go.

in 2015 he was just rusty because he hadnt been competing on tarmac for 2 years with a WRC machine (remember he was dropped for 2013 and in 2014 competed in WRC2). and last year he was with Dmacks and i think that says it all.

but yeah, enough praise, long way to go.

Well done by Tanak, but my surprise for today is Mikkelsen. Didnt expect that pace, he seems on the mission or something.

Nothing wrong with the road, it's the drivers that don't judge the conditions properly (little polish de javu).

Well, today is like Monte in Germany. Let see what the boy can do tomorrow against Mikkelsen.
