How Good Is Your Geographic? [5]
Hello there, boys and girls!
It's a fine tradition on these forums to have a thread on geographical bits of info, providing vital knowledge and general hilarity to all concerned.
So why don't we give it yet another go?
----------------------------------
The rules of this game are:
- The forumer who answers a question correctly asks the next one,
- No boobling!
As simple as that.
----------------------------------
Let's start off with an easy one: Which is the most popular place name in the world?

Thanks EuroTroll, this forum has had a popular geo thread for quite some, but the fun was recently ruined by a couple of posters. It's probably several pages deep by now.
Hopefully your attempt will resurrect it .“If everything's under control, you're going too slow.” Mario Andretti

No takers, huh? Perhaps I should elucidate.
I'm looking for a name that is most widespread in the world for towns, islands, etc. For example, there are 1017 places in the world with the name 'San Francisco'. The name I'm looking for, however, has no fewer than 1716 uses for places around the world.
What might that be?
